Reliance Retail (RRL) Marketplace

- Reliance is building the largest marketplace with all categories like, Electronics & Mobiles, General Merchandise, Fashion, FMCG businesses. Marketplace team comprises of e commerce industry professionals and we are in the process of building a world class team. We are hiring Category leaders who love building and scaling new business.

- We need leaders with proven experiences in P&L management, thought leadership, detailed execution, and people development to build and grow categories. The leader will be responsible for formulating the category growth strategy, evaluating selection decisions, improving processes to scale with high business growth and managing vendor/brand relationships.

- The leader should be a self-starter, be comfortable with working in ambiguous environments, and be able to deliver results at both a strategic and tactical level. An understanding of, and passion for, creating an impact in the seller community is highly desired.

Job Description:

- Formulate strategy for marketplace business with a sound understanding of competitive landscape, consumer cohorts and preferences, evolving industry trends & marketplace policies.

- P&L ownership for the category, management of topline and bottom line, product returns and inventory mix

- On board Brand aligned sellers and marketplace sellers building a universe of products on the platform catering to a diverse customer base across all socio- economic cohort and price points.

- Negotiate JBPs with Brands and large sellers and ensure stock availability in RFCs and dropship model. Manage a team of category Heads/Managers / CMMs/ Instock Managers/BDMs in driving high growth for the category.

- Process development, operational planning to support forecasting and new launches

- Working closely with cross functional teams including brand, marketing, growth, SCM to deliver on targets

- Weekly and monthly tracking of business metrics to monitor goals. Analyse and diving deep where needed to drive continuous improvement

- Competition research and benchmarking, plan promotional activities

- Understanding of Marketplace ecosystem with brands and aligned sellers, custodian of seller experience

- Stakeholder management for internal teams/vendors

- Participate in AOP planning and execute the OP for the business unit tracking KPIs.

Basic Qualification:

- Graduate with an MBA from a premier institute preferred

- Relevant Industry Experience: 5-7 Years Total Experience: 10-20 years

Reporting Matrix:

- Reports to Business Head

- Team size would be close to 40 to 60, with 5-6 direct reports
