Category Head - Product Marketing - FMCG (9-15 yrs)

Position: Category Head-Marketing

Note: Only females required for this Role.

Job Description:

The position takes a - 360degree- view of the business categories - in the short as well as long-term. The incumbent will work closely with the Business Heads on all business, customer and market development efforts to maximize customer satisfaction, sales, profitability and market share for the business categories across all sub-channels, products, and services.

Key focus areas include:

- Creating a process for listening to the market and converting into needs

- Matching customer needs with appropriate solutions through relevant channels

- Building market shares in strategically selected markets

- Benchmarking competition

- Scouring the global market for new technologies, products, and markets.

Principal Accountabilities (Key Result Areas):

The Head Marketing will propose and jointly work with the Business Heads on:

- Achievement of Business Plans

- Would involve providing input to the Business in formulating the business plan achievement of business plans, sales plans, market share objectives in line with business strategy:

- Preparation of strategic business plan and detailed annual marketing plans

- Formulation of annual sales plan and budget with the respective divisional heads

- Drawing up of national sales plan

- Generation of customer demand for achieving sales plans

- Ensuring product launches and availability

- Achievement of monthly/quarterly/annual sales plan

- Liaise with Business for Key Account Management, market penetration, and market development

Realization of Profits:

- Would involve realization of profit objectives and creation of profit potential in line with organizational interest

- Improving sales as well as profit contribution of the products - volume, price realization, costs, revenue etc

- Steering factory towards market-driven cost price

- Product pricing as part of product/market strategy

- Forecasting price movements for cost-price specifications in new product design briefs

Advertising and Marketing Communication:

- Would involve creation of high-quality advertising and marketing communication, in conjunction with the respective Business Heads with a view to ensure continuous demand creation and improve brand/company image among customer groups

- Position the various brands/models in each of the channels

- Evolve marketing communication strategies for visibility of organization and products/services

- Formulate advertising objectives

- Maintain consistently high standards for evaluation and selection of creative material/media for advertising communication

- Generate innovative ideas for sales promotion, trade communication and trade promotion

- Monitor and measure periodically brand image improvement among target consumer groups

Product Development and Management:

- Would involve innovative management of the product portfolio

- Identification of new product ideas for implementation

- Identification of basis product market opportunities that match customer needs with organizations core competencies

- Sourcing of new product opportunities through various channels - strategic tie-ups, internet etc

- Acting as a liaison between Business Development and potential strategic partners to forge business relationships

- Periodic product range renewal based on worldwide trends and competition benchmarking

- Working with R&D, product pricing, and field trials

- Steer product development through put time towards shorter lead times

Product Promotion:

- Initiate timely development of master campaigns and pilot promotion sites

- Develop and implement promotion plans in consultation with Channel sales Heads

Customer Satisfaction:

- Demonstrate customer orientation and achieve customer satisfaction

- Conduct periodic market research for customer need/expectation analysis

- Ensure that product specifications are in line with customer needs

- Regularly measure consumer and trade satisfaction

- Seek customer feedback and implement for product improvement-

Quality Management:

- Ensure quality in all aspects of marketing and manage the cost of non-quality

- Emphasize product quality and influence factory groups for product quality

- Create and maintain adequate internal controls that ensure quality of managerial and operational processes

- Comply with social and statutory responsibilities
