Category Head - Consumer Durable Appliances (10-14 yrs)
Role : Category Head

- Highly skilled and experienced Product Category Head for Appliances to oversee and lead our appliance product line.
- The Product Category Head will be responsible for managing the strategic direction, development, and profitability of the appliances category. The primary goal will be to drive growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and strengthen our market position in the appliances business.
1. Category Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Identify market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape to drive category growth.
2. Product Development: Lead the end-to-end product development process, including market research, product concept ideation, feature definition, pricing, and product launch. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as design, engineering, and manufacturing, to deliver innovative and high-quality appliances.
3. Assortment Planning: Determine the optimal assortment mix, considering market demand, customer preferences, and profitability. Continuous analysis of sales data, consumer insights, and market trends to optimize product assortment and maximize sales performance.
4. Pricing and Profitability: Develop and implement pricing strategies to maximize profitability while considering market dynamics, competition, and cost structures. Monitor pricing trends, conduct pricing analyses, and make pricing adjustments as necessary to achieve revenue and margin targets.
5. Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective marketing and promotional campaigns to drive awareness, generate demand, and increase sales. Provide product expertise and support in marketing activities, including advertising, digital marketing, and trade shows.
6. Competitive Analysis: Conduct regular competitive analysis to identify market opportunities, threats, and gaps. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and consumer behaviour to ensure our product offerings remain competitive and relevant.
7. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including sales, operations, customer service, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of category plans. Foster strong cross-functional relationships and drive alignment to achieve business objectives.
9. Performance Tracking and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of the category. Track and analyse sales performance, market share, profitability, and other relevant metrics. Prepare regular reports and present findings to senior management.
- Bachelor's degree and MBA in Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Product Category Manager or similar role, preferably in the appliances/small home appliances industry.
- In-depth knowledge of the appliances market, including consumer trends, technologies, and competitors.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to develop and execute category strategies aligned with business goals.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using data to drive decision-making and achieve business objectives.
- Demonstrated experience in product development, pricing, and assortment planning.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving targets and driving growth.
- Strong leadership qualities and the ability to lead and motivate a cross-functional team.
