Job Purpose/ Description:
This dynamic opportunity is for strategic and accomplished professionals to join our organization in a pivotal role. The Sr Associate/ Manager is responsible for originating new business across our focus sectors within Small and Medium Enterprises(SME) and Financial Inclusion (FI) space, building deep relationships in the impact business and fast-growing entrepreneur community, overseeing deal execution, and working towards strengthening the Caspian Debt brand.
The role specifically looks to originate and foster business with the Co lending, Business Correspondent, and other business partners and help to diversify Caspian's Debt portfolio through these relationships. Caspian will be the major lender in these relationships.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- As an individual contributor dedicated focus on client sourcing and managing them is the key responsibility of the resource
- Must work on new structures, to partner with other financial lenders ( for co-lending) or financial service providers (LSP / BC). Ensure the best commercial engagements and transaction structures including process optimization to help build a strong overall portfolio.
- Have a strong credit underwriting knowledge and apply the same for the assessment of the prospective business.
- Present and recommend debt partnership proposals to the credit committee.
- Monitor and manage portfolio investment partners and ensure project quality and covenants are not breached.
- Support technology and process improvement initiatives, dedicating one's time to ensure continuous enhancement and efficiency.
- Keep oneself updated about regulations, and competition and recommend compliances and new processes to the department.
- Engage in ongoing knowledge building within the team in target sectors, facilitating the identification of emerging investment opportunities.
- Provide ideas for the implementation of marketing campaigns, collaborating closely with the marketing team to facilitate business development.
- This position aims to foster effective communication at all levels, balance resources for objective achievement, and establish accountability for results.
Qualifications:

Educational Background: Post Graduate Degree (Finance is desirable).
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in lending and/or investing in high-growth businesses. Preference will be given to experience in handling Co lending partnerships,
- Credit Underwriting experience of financial institutions and SMEs is mandatory. The underlying company would be FI with sizes upwards of 100cr of AUM, and SME may have a top line of 50 Cr or above.
- Extensive experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with entrepreneurs and other stakeholders supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem, such as venture capital/private equity investors, industry associations, sector experts, etc.
- Strong experience in structuring debt transactions for partnership programs (Co lending, BC, LSP) with financial institution/ LSP clients. Experience in lending to Financial Institutions is a prerequisite.
Key Abilities:
- Deep understanding of issues pertinent to social and environmental impact businesses and the investor ecosystem.
- Fundamental understanding of accounting and financial statement analysis.
- Ability to conduct secondary and primary research on market and success factors for businesses.
- Excellent proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and independence.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong personal discipline and planning.
- Confidence in working to deadlines without constant detailed supervision.
- Ability to thrive and contribute to building a collaborative culture within the team.
