Key Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the risk and underwriting function for the lending platform
- Set up internal controls and process to address key risks in lending business
- Develop and implement policy and process manual for all the lending products
- Create risk and underwriting policies, develop and deploy underwriting models, credit-risk decision strategies and fraud detection
- Drive operational efficiency through automation of credit process and straight-through processing
- Be involved in the full-life-cycle credit risk function
- Recommend to the management on latest trends in underwriting which gives better customer experience, drives business growth and enhances asset quality
- Co-ordination with support functions - sales, operations, collections, IT teams for setting up process flow for smooth business functioning
- Conduct portfolio study of the outstanding advances portfolio, Lead credit tightening initiatives to keep delinquencies under control while maintaining a balanced view of business profitability across products and geographies.
- Quality Management in terms of Audit, Compliance and Hind sighting
Skills/ Qualities Required:
- Prior experience of 8-12 years handling a sizeable loan portfolio across products, unsecured and secured
- Strong fundamentals in credit and risk management, ability to accurately assess credit risk in a business
- Deep knowledge of scorecards, credit and risk policies and risk management of SME Lending Business, risk sharing mechanisms between fintechs and lenders (FLDGs, co-lending etc.)
- Ability to do credit solutioning and identify new market opportunities
- First principles problem solving
- Strong ability to leverage data to come up with credit insights
- Prior experience or understanding of Supply Chain Finance / Factoring a plus
