Rs. 50 Lakh Crore+ of capital is locked as receivables on balance sheets of companies in India. It typically takes avg. 70 days for a business to get paid, and it's increasing 5% every year. Formal funding options are limited, and cover < 20% of the addressable market.

Existing players are looking to solve this credit gap by improving reach of the formal financial system which a slow and steady process. We are taking a differentiated approach and attacking the problem at its core - unlocking this trapped capital within the supply chain itself and reducing the dependence of small businesses on bank loans.

We are creating an India-specific solution by developing a first-of-its-kind Invoice Discounting Marketplace for MSMEs to get access to collateral free, on-demand and instant funding, with a long-term strategy of building a B2B lending & commerce ecosystem within Supply Chains leveraging our data infrastructure and financier network. Globally, companies in this space have witnessed tremendous success over the past few years.

You will join our core team that currently consists of ex-BCG, ex-Microsoft / ISB / IIM alumni with a team of industry veterans from financial services serving on the advisory board. We are backed by HCS, a 23 year old investment bank and a registered NBFC. We are a team of passionate problem solvers and we- re looking to build a technology company with a strong product innovation mindset.

We- re looking for:

- Someone who is looking to build a company ground up and is passionate about the data-driven lending space

- Has demonstrated ability in building scalable cloud-based products

- A First-principles thinker: Has ability to get to the root of problems and come up with logical, practical and effective solutions

- Hands on with code, doesn- t shy from rolling up his/her sleeves and hacking away at problems

- A - Figure things out- kind of person: If you are looking for a well-defined, structured role with fixed responsibilities we are probably not the right fit. We will expect you to come figure stuff out with us!

- An Infinite Learner: If you are not hungry to learn, we won't be a good fit. We want to be able to learn from you as well, so we'll love it if you come with some deep knowledge or domain expertise from a previous job

- An eternal optimist with a big imagination: Finally, we want someone who can imagine what the future would look like, and then push the boundaries of what's possible to get there, not someone who finds a 100 ways of why it cannot be done.

Preferred experience

- 8-12 years of experience in engineering software products / platforms

- Experience with Node.JS / Angular / AWS / Azure cloud with strong server-side coding capabilities & multiple languages

- Comfortable with large RDBMS - Postgres, MySQL etc.

- Previous experience in building MVPs / version 1s of web/mobile applications, and subsequently leading their successful deployment & scale-up

- Experience in open source platforms, software and tools - and having made platform & architectural decisions, including - Build vs Buy-

- Experience in building machine learning capabilities / advanced data analytics systems a plus

- Prior experience in hiring and leading small engineering teams a plus

- Compensation: Market compensation with combination of cash (sustenance) + equity (large component), negotiable based on profile
