Search for more details:https://www.cargill.co.in/ WHAT THIS ROLE OFFERS: Position Purpose : - Operationally lead the packaging /3PL Packaging operations and the packaging material development function with the vision of Zero defects at right quality &amp; cost to the customers for GEOS India Business especially with B2C/CPG mindset. - This position provides overall leadership for developing and maintaining the strategic direction and coordinating the tactical plans for packaging across GEOS India Business. - The incumbent will be responsible for identifying and leading initiatives that improve performance, reduce risks, and lower costs in packaging materials while also driving alignment on packaging between all of the key stakeholders: GEOS businesses, Sales &amp; Marketing, Build Operate Supply Chain (BOSC), Food Safety Quality and Regulatory (FSQR), Cargill Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (CSSP), and the Cargill Packaging COE. - This includes a key role in helping manage the relationship with key packaging suppliers and leading the process for internal packaging transfer pricing. - The Person Will Provide Strong Leadership On. - Packaging operations philosophies and strategies - Talent management. - Networking and alignment in-and outside the region in the operational family but also with future projects, Packaging MTLs, Strategic Sourcing, Marketing &amp; Customer relation. - EHS/FSQRA management. - Implement the Cargill Manufacturing Excellence Systems/tools appropriately. - Continuously reducing full manufacturing costs and improvement of the KPIs. Principal Accountabilities: - Working out long-and short term strategies in close cooperation and alignment with the commercial, operational and COE leaders-30 % - Work out needed philosophies for modern packaging plants to reach operational excellence in the process-and packaging area with high standards of food safety/Hygiene standards. - Delivery of products from the packaging facilities of our own facilities as well 3PL Packaging as per IBP with right defined and agreed quality standards. - Working with packaging development team members to identify the gaps from the customer expectations by closely coordinating with Marketing /Sales and Customer service feedback, also close the gaps by implementing with solutions. - Working closely with Plant Operations Manager &amp; Packaging managers for all the expected deliverables on manufacturing . Connectivity and networking:- 30% - Making sure the right resources and tools are available in the region and overall in Cargill are being utilized so the right information is shared, used and learning is maximal. This includes: uses of our COEs, CSS resources packaging, packaging sharepoints, participation in global quarterly and yearly meetings, learning across geographies, use of packaging KPI and manufacturing cost definitions, avoid re-invention of the wheel, role out global standards and specifications. - Developing the packaging materials as per business/commercial requirements, involving the pilot trials to scale up, Cost Management /TCO, setting the right quality standards by coordinating with FSQRA function, Implementing the Zero defects/ lean six sigma tools by coordinating with regional CI lead. - In addition, the incumbent will be the owner of the packaging specifications for GEOS India, will help develop packaging material qualifications and validations, and will share best practices in packaging materials across business and Enterprise boundaries. - Gather and share pertinent Market Intelligence to provide leverage in packaging sourcing strategy and negotiations. Operational excellence: 20% - Installation and maintenance of best practices and excellence in shrink management, filling mgmt, EOQs, SMED, 5s, Bottle neck mgmt, efficiency increases in order to achieve the lowest possible full manufacturing costs. - Define and build a prioritized global pipeline of packaging savings and improvement projects that drive costs out of our packaging materials and operations aligned with the agreed packaging strategies. - Drive implementation by leading or providing oversight of packaging improvements projects, working closely with all of the key stakeholders. - Use industry insights, comprehensive knowledge and in-depth technology-specific expertise and application of principles, concepts, best practices and standards to identify areas for improvement, improved techniques, tools, safety and quality standards of packaging materials and operations across GEOS businesses and packaging sites. - Work with the businesses and site teams to determine and capture value created through packaging improvements against goals. - Assess the technical performance and effectiveness of improvements of GEOS packaging; identify gaps and practical improvement solutions. - Support plant teams with troubleshooting problems related packaging to help identify causes and solutions. - Talent management: -10% - Actively following, managing, the talent pipeline and succession planning attraction and retaining of the best people for the job by closely working with Plant Operations Manager. - Installing a culture and environment where people feel good, can develop themselves and are engaged. - Provide or organize necessary and high level training in order to make our people execute with excellence. - Coach our different ops people in the organization towards excellence. - EHS and FSQR management: -10% - Striving and working with the organization towards a 0 incident culture. Continuously improving our internal procedures, processes and assets to reach the 0 target on incidents in general and serious injuries and fatalities (SIFs). - Rolling out, installing and improving the job safety strategy for packaging operations including the LOTO procedure for packaging. Minimum Required Qualifications : - Engineer with strong back ground on Packaging Operations, Packing material development. - University (BS) degree in packaging technology, engineering, or related technical degree. - 10+ years of overall experience with a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in a packaging related role. - Ability to quickly understand complex manufacturing processes and business constraints. - Strong analytical and problem solving ability. Proven ability to create value and deliver business results. - Ability to work with and influence people across various businesses, functions and organizational levels. - Experience with pet-lines, Pouch Fillers, Rigid Packs is a strong asset. Preferred Qualifications : - Great organizer, coordinator and communicator. - Experience leading Lean Six Sigma and/or other Continuous Improvement programs or initiatives. - Technicals in Bottling / Packaging equipment in the dressings/sauces/mayonnaise segments. - Trainings: Situational Leadership, High Performance Management (HPM). - Conflict Management. - Negotiation Techniques.
