Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Investment Manager to join our Venture Capital (VC) firm in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role within a VC firm and a strong understanding of early-stage and growth-stage investments. This role involves evaluating investment opportunities, managing deal flow, conducting due diligence, and working closely with portfolio companies to drive growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Evaluation & Deal Sourcing:
- Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities in startups and high-growth companies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with entrepreneurs, founders, accelerators, and other key stakeholders in the startup ecosystem.
- Track industry trends and emerging technologies to identify strategic investment areas.
Due Diligence & Financial Analysis:
- Conduct thorough due diligence, including market research, competitive analysis, and financial modeling.
- Assess business models, unit economics, revenue potential, and scalability of startups.
- Perform risk assessment and prepare investment memos for internal discussions.
Deal Structuring & Execution:
- Participate in deal structuring, negotiations, and closing transactions.
- Work closely with legal teams to ensure smooth execution of investment agreements.
- Monitor portfolio companies' financial and operational performance post-investment.
Portfolio Management & Value Addition:
- Provide strategic guidance and support to portfolio companies on business development, fundraising, and scaling operations.
- Act as a liaison between startups and VC partners to ensure alignment on growth strategies.
- Track key performance metrics of portfolio companies and provide insights for decision-making.
Ecosystem Engagement & Thought Leadership;
- Represent the VC firm at industry events, startup pitch sessions, and networking forums.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with co-investors, LPs, and other financial institutions.
- Contribute to internal research reports, market insights, and thought leadership content.
Key Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as an Investment Manager in a VC firm.
- Strong understanding of venture capital, startup ecosystems, and early-stage investments.
- Proven ability to assess startups, conduct due diligence, and structure investment deals.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Passion for technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
- MBA/CA/CFA or equivalent qualification preferred.
