Role : Senior Finance Analyst

Level : 6A

Function : Finance

Sub-function : Management Accounting India

Reporting to: UK FM / SFM/Controller

Management of : Business Unit ( Cost Center or group of cost centers)

Role Objective :

- The Senior Finance Analyst role will report directly to their respective Finance Supervisor or BU Accountant or Finance Controller and will be located in Transaction Processing.

- This role will be responsible for month end activities, accounting, forecasting and reports.

- The Senior Finance Analyst will review and analyse information from the general ledger and performing adjustments as required.

- The role will support the BU Accountant / Finance Controller in finalising BU financial information prior to submission to Business Partners and the business.

Professional Know-how :

Academic :

- Semi Qualified CA/ ICWA/CIMA or equivalent

Experience :

- 3-5 years experience in accounting, financial Reporting, Financial Planning and Analysis management reporting role

Internal :

- Senior Finance Manager India

- UK Finance Controller

External :

- End Client (wherever required)

- Auditors

- Business FD's

- Group stakeholders

Primary Responsibilities :

Work with the BU Accountant / Finance Controller and execute the following responsibilities :

Day to day accounting & month end :

- Perform the daily operational accounting tasks

- Process journal entries

- Execute the period-end accounting entries by posting manual journal entries

- Oversee the postings of automated journals and ensure that processes are correctly followed

- Manage the volume of process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded

- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines

- Work closely with the team in preparation of monthly/yearly closings

General Ledger :

- Review and analyse information from the general ledger and other accounting records to ensure accuracy and completeness, undertake GL reconciliations, and take corrective action, as appropriate

Reporting :

- Provide inputs for weekly & month end reports

- Work with BU Accountant/ Finance Controller to prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports

- Produce month end reporting (MPR packs) for review by BUs Forecasting

- Works closely with the Transaction Processing teams in the provision of support to Business Planning & Forecasting

Other :

- Develop sound professional working relationships with colleagues, business staff and management, building their confidence and acquiring an understanding of the business

- Be proactive in the provision of feedback and the delivery of ideas to develop and improve solutions

- Undertake any necessary training associated with the duties of the post and participates in training and development procedures

- Maintain confidentiality and observes data protection guidelines

- Carries out any other reasonable duties commensurate with their capability

Key Result Areas :

Essential :

- 3-5 years prior and relevant experience

- Experience in mining data and developing reports using a variety of reporting / analytics software packages with an aptitude for learning new reporting software packages

- Working knowledge of SAP modules (FICO, GL, AR, AP, etc.)

- Knowledge of BI Tools

- Degree or equivalent in accounting

- Part professional qualification - CIMA, ICWA, CA or equivalent.

- Effectively communicate financial performance and impact to operational colleagues

- Strong financial, analytical, communication and project management skills

- Comfortable with autonomous working

- Strong oral and written communication skills

Desirable :

- Knowledge of SAP 4 HANA

- Ability to work unsupervised and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines

- Knowledge of Capita financial systems and general accounting procedures

- Knowledge of current regulations including IFRS, UK GAAP an advantage

- Good communication and influencing skills to Senior Manager level

Undesirable :

- Poor communication skills

- Unable to deal with ambiguity

- Unable to deal with ambiguity

- The stakeholders are spread between UK and India and ability to communicate with clarity is of utmost importance. Needs to set expectation with the stakeholders and build excellent relationship. In a contributor role, the role has to meet the deliverables in the timelines, with standard quality. The role needs ability to take up new avenues and challenges which is part of business growth.
