Role Purpose (overall high level summary of the role) :

- Manage Business Intelligence, Analytics and Reporting Centre of Excellence for the company and translate the company business objectives into an information management and BI strategy

- Add to top line/bottom line through visual/predictive and prescriptive analytics.

- Establish, implement and execute, processes and best practices in order to streamline company-wide analytical reporting.

- Establish one version of truth by implementing data governance framework and consistent KPI definitions.

At a broad level role will cover three critical areas

1) Data Governance & Enterprise Data Warehouse

2) Reporting (internal & external)

3) Predictive and prescriptive analytics

Key imperatives include :

Analytics :

1. Define best practices and solutions related to data science

2. Embed predictive intelligence in functional processes

3. Raise the bar in strategic decision making through data driven decisions

4. Demonstrate ROI and impact of analytical models delivered

5. Liaison with Partners & distributors and implement Insurance analytics

Business Intelligence :

1. Build lean decision based tool as an enabler to shorten decision making process

2. Manage EDW and associated metadata from reporting perspective

3. Unify business & data dictionary for reporting among departments

4. Story narration using data and visual analytics

5. Intuitive and insightful report designing customized at individual level

6. Increase user uptake by ensuring self-service by leading technology driven and training initiatives

7. Establish platform for master reporting data definition, acquisition, staging and distribution

8. Evaluate Company future BI needs & automation of Processes and present strategies for evaluation and implementation

9. Timely training of Analytics departments & sharing best practices with them.

Principal Accountabilities :

1. BI Implementation & Meta Data creation

2. Centralized + Documented (Automated) reporting structure

3. Optimization of DWH + Centralization of Analytical Playgrounds.

4. Improvement of Dimensional Area (Owner_DWH) according to current/future requirements.

5. Apply knowledge and expertise in quantitative analysis, predictive modelling and data mining to see beyond numbers and understand customer behaviours and patterns of engagement

6. Deploy analytics tools and ensure capabilities of machine learning are leveraged in order to make models more predictive and scalable

7. Explain complex statistical models to business in a simple language and demonstrate benefits of implementing

8. Build lean decision based tool as an enabler to shorten decision making process

9. Combine deep data and analytics skills with proven business acumen to solve business problems by understanding, preparing and analyzing data to predict emerging trends and provide recommendations to optimize business results.

- Ensure one version of truth and forward and backward tractability

Customers / Stakeholders

1. Support to Company level Projects with high level of Support.

2. Timely Suggestion for future improvement of Processes.

3. Responsible for DWH related coordination with IT

4. Also will be responsible for all type of DWH Changes, Implantation & New requests.

5. Company Level Reporting (Definitions, Documentation, Accuracy and Single Truth Reporting)

6. Design and deliver new reports as per company requirements

7. Enhance existing reports making them more intuitive and insightful

8. Ensure timely delivery of reports that have been automated and ensure DVR's and logs are checked for accurate delivery

Typical Targets and Measures :

- Ensure all scheduled MIS's are dispatched within time and accurately

- Analytics model performance is maintained as per defined benchmarks

Leadership & Teamwork :

1. The team should be staffed and trained adequately to handle all processes irrespective of the business volumes

2. Create a high performing and learning organization

3. Constantly upgrade skill and competency levels of the team

4. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and sustained value creation

5. Ensure responsibilities are clearly defined within the team and each individual member is clear of the expectations viz. the KRA's assigned

6. Ensure a contingency plan is prepared, deployed ad tested by the end of the review period to check the efficacy of backups created

7. Monitor & manage cost lines for upcoming channels to ensure profitable growth

8. Consistently ensure cost effectiveness

9. Ensuring all costs to be within approved budget

Typical Targets and Measures :

- Adequate backups have been created in the team for all processes

- SOP's & checklists etc. are in place and best practices are replicated across.

- Team members are sufficiently trained to handle their respective KRA's efficiently

Operational Effectiveness & Control :

- Ensure all MIS published to the Sales team and Channel partners are done within the specified timelines accurately.

- Develop a comprehensive mechanism which ensures that Initiatives are taken on a regular basis to publish new set of MIS that will enable better decision making for the management

- Continuous system development and automation of MISs
