Role Title: Senior Business Analyst

Business/Function & Location: (Country/Department) : Change Delivery, India

Role Purpose (overall high-level summary of the role)

- Responsible for analyzing and executing any change to the technology used by the company. This includes changes due to New products, enhancements, regulatory and compliance along with the addition of new systems. Will be required to document requirements, define scope and objectives to formulated systems to parallel overall business strategies

Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision-making areas :

1. Impact on the Business / Function [COMPLETE 9-11 Years] :

- Business Analysis experience in Insurance is required, preferably 9+ years of experience in Life Insurance

- Experience with an Agile business analysis process

- Strong business focus and management of user expectations, ability to establish and maintain high level of trust and confidence.

- Responsible to maintain a healthy work relation with all stakeholders. Engagement to ensure end user satisfaction exceeds the expectation

- Exposure to structured software development life cycle methodology

- Coordinating with different functions for gathering Business Requirements

- Handling all the technology related items for the business users

- Prepare document for the Business flow of the application

- Prepare wireframes which is future ready and easy to use

- Analyzing and Preparing / Reviewing - Business Requirement Document (BRD- s) and getting them effectively build in the system

- BRD walkthrough and suggestion incorporation

- Organizing/debriefing/ walk-through sessions with functional leads and/or other designated project personnel- s

- Validating Functional Specifications, assisting the Business Users in understanding new functionality and obtain functional sign-off

- Regular Coordination with the technical / development team for all kind of enhancement/modification needed to be done in system (All Technology) after performing gap analysis

- Hands on knowledge of Tablets, Web Application/ UI Design

- Regular Business and IT discussion on suggested architecture, process flow, new technology that can be used

- Review the UAT scenario comprehensiveness

Typical Targets and Measures :

a) Quality of Delivery of System :

b) Responsible for working with various business units to analyze and define requirements to develop a product that meets the needs of the business.

c) Collaborate and define business solutions for each project


d) Provide review feedback on the business requirements

e) Business Requirement document sign off

f) To ensure a successful product launch based on system perspective.

g) Support Testing team for understanding the requirement

h) For Facilitating smooth flow of process and avoid cross functional impact.

i) To ensure the requirement has no system impact or limitations.

j) To ensure FS are prepared as per the requirement following the development of the same.

k) Functional Specs sign-off for development.

2. Customers / Stakeholders [COMPLETE 3-4 AREAS] :

- Work closely with Business User and IT Team to understand the project objectives and translate these to a project framework to ensure successful delivery.

- To provide timely updates on the projects and activities performed by to PMO

- Experience in driving business initiatives to completion using project management principles

b) To ensure all information are flown to respective team members involved in the project.

c) To act as a back-up or share activity of peers

4. Operational Effectiveness & Control [COMPLETE 3-4 AREAS] :

- Confirm that all outstanding issues have been resolved or agreed to be resolved later

- Contributing to the process improvements.

- Standardize document and Version with Manager's approval.

Typical Targets and Measures :

a) To ensure all activities are completed within the timelines.

b) To documents for future reference

c) To ensure a standard format is used.

Major Challenges :

- Managing multiple projects simultaneously.

- To learn new function thoroughly and identify any system limitation and gap before raising business requirements.

- To guide the team when multiple projects hit the system simultaneously with swift timelines

Role Context :

- Requirement Gathering from the Users on their needs

- Identify impacted functions and hence build a Cross Functional Group (CFG) to ensure requirements are exhaustive

- Maintain necessary records of the user requirements from meetings/interviews/ Brainstorming etc.

- Document requirements in BR Document

- Review and sign off Functional Specification Document

- Prepare test scenarios basis the requirement

- Support Test Manager in identifying/classifying defects

- Evaluate impacted function from a CR's raised by Jr. Business Analyst

- Management & Leadership of Regulatory, Compliance & Operational Risk :

- Report any operational risk or operational risk loss to the line manager immediately (who is required to timely report to Operational Risk Coordinator) if the jobholder becomes aware of emerging or inadequately controlled operational risk or identify an operational risk loss in accordance with section B.1.2 of the Group Operations FIM.

Observation of Internal Controls :

- Maintain and observe internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators. Foster a compliance culture and implement Group Compliance Policy by managing compliance risk in liaison with the Head of Group Compliance, Regional Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources are in place and training is provided, and optimizing relations with regulators
