Job Objective :

- Role requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of Indian Equity markets and expertise in dealing in quity market. Profile involves taking independent dealing decisions includes buying & selling stocks within the investment mandate and regulatory framework. Monitoring execution performance vis-a-vis VWAP and outperform the same and to Comply with regulatory risk management and other internal mandates.

- The role also requires doing fundamental research and understanding of the sector assigned as a backup Analyst. The role revolves around acquiring knowledge and conviction for taking Investment calls in the assigned sector.

Key Responsibility Areas :

1. Impact on the Business/Function :

- Deal Execution: Placing deal to empanelled brokers through Email & recorded line. Price, quantity, transaction type and exchange to be specified for all the transactions to the broker as well on every order modification.

- Deal detail to back office: On completion of the transaction. Deal details to be entered in the M-Fund dealer module for deal settlement from back office.

- VWAP: Everyday VWAP report to be maintained to measure the execution performance of trades.

- Equity analyst for sectors assigned

- Generate investment ideas for generation of alpha in various portfolios.

- Ensure audit preparedness of function and provide appropriate support to auditors for audit

Typical Targets and Measures :

- Deals to be placed and executed as regulatory & internal guidelines.

- Liaison with middle & back office for effective settlement of equity & debt deal.

- Incidences of limit breaches should be minimized.

- Approval & supporting documents to be maintained.

- Investment research of equity sectors allotted. Target is to cover all Nifty and Nifty Jr. stocks and be on the lookout for good investment options for stocks outside of the above two indices.

2. Customers /Stakeholders :

- Liaison with the middle and back office teams to ensure effective deal settlements

- Settlement of deals within external and NAV related timelines

3. Leadership & Teamwork :

- Driving Dealing related project and implementation of it.

- Work as a team in implementing Investment related projects and bring them to their logical conclusion.

- Interaction with Brokers and Company management in building Investment ideas.

- To attend Training and development program for improving deal execution and for increasing market knowledge & understanding.

- Continuously engage with external brokers and ensure proper service and effective deal placement & execution.

- Driving Investment related idea generation and building stronger portfolio.

- Investment idea creation

- Development of dealing systems and processes for effective and efficient deal execution.

- Regular broker interaction and adequate servicing.

- Deal Execution related support to various company functions such as middle & back office, Audit, etc

- Investment of funds post adequate financial analysis of companies

- Optimize the return of the fund by minimizing risk and maximizing return

Major Challenges :

- The job requires constant alertness in collecting market information along with in-depth understanding of the Indian Financial system and market behavior to news and policy changes.

- Also, this role involves very good understanding of the numerous Investments related IRDA regulations, IRDA mandates, internal mandates, Exposure and Prudential norms and keep updated with the periodic changes

Role Context :

- Executing trades effectively by Complying at all times with regulatory, risk management and other internal mandates

- Developing sector understanding and building company model

Management & Leadership of Regulatory, Compliance & Operational Risk :

- Report any operational risk or operational risk loss to the line manager immediately (who is required to timely report to Operational Risk Coordinator) if the jobholder becomes aware of emerging or inadequately controlled operational risk or identify an operational risk loss

Observation of Internal Controls :

- Maintain and observe internal control standards, implement and observe Investment Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.

- Foster a compliance culture and implement Investment Policy by managing compliance risk in liaison with the Risk team, ensuring adequate compliance resources are in place and training is provided, and optimizing relations with regulators.
