Job Description:

- Conducting research on market trends, studying competition

- Conducting product presentations and workshops

- Adept at customer interaction and consolidating existing high-value relationships

- Finalizing the project timelines and budget for a particular product

- Interacting with prospective users and gauging the impact of the proposed product

- Finding new ways to make the product portfolio grow by understanding industry trends

- Analyzing global products & customization as per local needs

- Value addition to existing products (Reprints/Revisions)

- Creating new product ideas with a strict eye on the P&L

- Conducting product training sessions across India

- Responsible for managing projects to ensure the highest quality control standards as per ideal TAT (Turnaround Time)

- Content development, author management & vendor management

- Accountable for final quality, accuracy, budget, schedule & program goals

- Identifying risks to schedule, budget, scope and ensure project completion

- Project Management: coordinating with design team for book covers & layout, production team & manufacturing team to ensure on-time delivery of content

- Exposure to digital product development

Publishing :

- Design, develop and deliver resources as per the pedagogical practices and curriculum requirements of the target market

- Prepare and maintain publishing-related documents

- Develop sample chapter templates with all the features

- Evaluate manuscript and outlines the manuscript development process and its delivery

- Work with authors to finish the project in time as per the approved scope and budget

- Responsible for content accuracy, all varieties of editing of the resources we publish

- Interact with freelancers, content developers, reviewers and authors to finalise the book(s), digital components, teacher support material

- Sign off the handover of the final print-ready PDF of the book(s) and final deliverables of the digital components to the product development team as per the pre-approved scope of work

Budget:

- Responsible for delivering the projects within the budget allotted

- Compliant as per the processes established by Cambridge University Press while dealing with freelancers, content developers, subject matter experts, suppliers and vendors

Customer Connect:

- Aware of the new developments in the K8 segment of publishing

- Understand government guidelines and policies related to education

- Keeping an eye on all the major developments of CBSE/ICSE boards; understanding their guidelines and policies

- Understand the pedagogy and nuances of the subject

- Understand the user environment of the target audience

- Deliver product training to the target customers

- Client communication in Custom projects

Working with Author/s:

- Work with authors to complete the projects as per the approved scope, budget, schedule and key quality measures

- Maintain cordial and productive relationship with authors

Working with Product Development team:

- Work closely with the team to deliver the components basis the approved pub plan

- Provide relevant content input and info to help them finalise the templates, QA matrix/checklists

- Finalise the components as per the QA matrix/checklists

Working with Sales and Marketing teams:

- Aware of the marketing strategies for the promotion of the books

- Ready to travel with the sales team for the promotion of the books

- Product training of the sales team and the target user

Key Skills;

- Strong team player

- Subject matter expert in the field of SST or Science or Maths or English

- English language proficiency is a must

- Advance-level proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Adobe PDF

- Self-driven and enthusiastic

- Ready to adapt and learn

- Ability to work well under pressure

- Capable of meeting deadlines

- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills

Qualification: Master's from a premium university or educational institute

Work Experience - Minimum 4-5 years in a competitive work environment

Desirable:

- Working knowledge of commonly used video and audio editing software

- Strong editorial skills

- Exposure to assessment creation and implementation

- A degree in Publishing

- Exposure to educational products in the international markets

- Teaching experience
