Who are we:

Cactus Venture Partners (CVP) is an India-focused purpose-driven fund that makes high conviction investments in early growth stage companies in tech start-ups (clean-tech, health and B2B SaaS) and D2C brands. Our mission to build sustainable businesses that scale rapidly. We lead our deals, take Board seats, and help founders accelerate their growth journey through our playbook of 4 business-building levers. The CVP vision is to build a high-quality financial institution over the next 20 years with strong ethics, governance, and transparency.

The fund is led by professionals with complementary skill sets - one partner is a successful entrepreneur, the second is an experienced venture capital investor and the third is a former investment banker and early-growth private equity investor.

The Opportunity:

Cactus Venture Partners (CVP) is looking for a Principal who can contribute to the success of the fund and is keen to learn in the process.

Responsibilities:

- Source transactions in the focused verticals and ensure that the pipeline has prominent and relevant deals on a consistent basis

- Create and maintain detailed databases of key economic and financial parameters of different technology-based and other sectors

- Prepare in-depth research on various sectors with actionable insights

- Conduct comparative analysis of India and other global markets for relevant sectors

- Monitor, track and analyze latest trends and developments in the technology sector

- Gather and analyze data from a variety of sources, including company reports, the internet, online databases, and proprietary content

- Study the companies of interest for the fund to make investment and devise the investment thesis

- Build, maintain and analyze financial models of companies and industries, generating regular and one-off reports, graphs, and datasets from these models

- Assist in execution of transactions

- Build and maintain relationships with industry experts

- Assist in preparing presentations for investment committee, investors, partners and other parties

- Liaison with financial advisors, third-party service providers, government agencies and other stakeholders

Skills and Knowledge requirement:

- Strong networking skills and understanding of technology landscape in India

- Attention to detail, willingness to learn and strong problem-solving skills

- Logical and quick learner to understand diverse sectors

- Strong evaluation and analytical skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and strong presentation skills

- Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

- Ability to work in a challenging and dynamic work environment

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members.

Education/Experience Requirements:

- 8+ years relevant experience in venture capital, angel fund, investment banking or any start-up

- Strong interest in startup and technology eco-system

- Professional certification in venture capital, finance, investments, or technology will be an added advantage

- Multi-sector exposure will be an added advantage as well
