What does a Sr. SME do?

- Own processes to create, label and curate the data required to improve Bytelearn's model accuracy.

- Hire and manage a team of 6+ intern/full-time ML associates to deliver impact at scale

- Refine and scope ambiguous requests working along-side data scientists, and drive clear deliverables throughout project life-cycle.

- Manage multiple annotation projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal stakeholders

- Participate in automation solutioning between cross-functional teams and validate the launch of proposed solutions

- Deliver results according to project schedules and quality while maintaining SLAs on velocity, productivity and quality

Must have Skills

- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience in data creation and labeling for machine learning (as a transcriber or annotator)

- 1+ years of experience in leading or managing junior team members

- Fluency in the English language (reading and writing) and high school-level mathematics

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including: experience liaising with customers and/or internal stakeholders; facilitating meetings and driving progress on followup actions; demonstrated experience writing end-to-end SOPs and other process documentation

- Ability to proactively identify areas for program improvement and autonomously create/drive solutions through data-driven results

- Able to work under tight timelines with minimal supervision

- Hands-on, "roll up your sleeves" mindset

- Ability to learn, adapt and work in a fast-paced dynamic environment

- Strong collaboration skills

- Strong ownership and delivery
