Job Title: Buying Manager Women's Wear Location: Dubai Business Unit: Corporate Fashion Department: Home and Fashion Reports to: Head of Buying - Apparel / Head of Buying - Non Apparel Experience: Total experience: 10+ years - Minimum of 4 years as a Senior Buyer required with a proven track record - 4+ years experience as a Buyer - Experience in Related product line is required - Experience in purchasing and importing products from commercially viable sources/regions is required - Experience in managing multiple and/or high volume categories Qualification: - Bachelor degree in Fashion Designing - Bachelor degree/PG in a Retail Function, Marketing, Business Management, Procurement, or Financial Management Job Purpose: To create a comprehensive buying plan, assuring the reflection of the retail trends while complying with company vision of providing best values at a competitive price, while directing the buying team towards fulfilling the department targets Job Description: Operational - Prepare annual business plans as per the buying budgets for the department conducted in line with the respective Head of Department - Actively participate in implementing and executing the Buying Strategy, and introduce a weekly price buster product - Handling the responsibility of managing multiple product buying departments, working with a strong collaboration with the buying department head to assure a proper execution of the buying plan - Prepare weekly product performance analysis from a sales point of view, and participate in presenting the same in the weekly trading meeting - Architect the new season product line designs, keeping into consideration the market trends, colours, favourability, and the performance history of the goods - Establish the seasonal strategy including the range direction, range selection and Final Sign-off plan for the department - Apply product and trend expertise in selecting the materials/fabrics for the new season goods - Travel to various destinations to the finalize the process of goods merchandising, including colours, fabrics, and concepts, in addition, continuously present lead time suppliers - Assure pre-production quality check is executed in a timely manner with the quality control manager collaboration - Create the pricing strategy (Entry, Mid and Exit prices) for the product range with the collaboration of the planning department according to market studies and internal guidelines - Manage season product planning along with planning department while keeping in consideration the right look with the right product mix - Drive the buying team to deliver as per the business plans and targets for the department - Responsible for working on pre-determined structured range and sales plan to meet agreed sales and margin targets - Ensure the product range is selected and planned within the time limit, giving sufficient lead time for vendors to manufacture and deliver - Responsible for signing off selling price, input margin and quantity on buyers range plan - Develop new avenues for promoting new categories - Maintain high level of product expertise, ensuring product knowledge is understood and incorporated by the team - Responsible for all related activities of the department in Advertising, promotion, marketing, and Visual Merchandising - Conduct periodic store visits to collect feedback from the stores People Management - Motivate and empower the reporting team with necessary tools and support required to achieve department goals - Establish clear direction, prioritize tasks, assigns and delegate responsibility and monitor the workflow of the team - Build opportunities for team to suggest, participate and contribute to improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing initiatives - Provide guidance and ensure that the Department complies with the company policies, processes, practices and systems - Ensures proper target setting and staff performance management in line with the company performance management guidelines - Drives programs to enable the company to attract and develop local talents to take on meaningful roles within the organization - Product and Process Improvement - Acquire various researches reflecting the current trends, market demand, cost reduction methods, etc. to be used to increase the efficiency and the effectiveness of the current work processes Knowledge and Skills: Excellent negotiation skills, and a high sense of fashion creativity is required Excellent Microsoft Office Skills Apply to: Shilpa Nair
