Buyer - Menswear (Private Label)

We are looking for a Buyer (Senior) for a well known E commerce client for their private label brands based at Gurgaon.

- The person has a flair for fashion and possesses a strong sense of creativity balanced with commercial. The role is working directly with the London based Designers to deliver a fashion forward branded range. Candidates to have excellent understanding of garment construction and global fashion trends. It is essential to have experience of managing critical paths and working with garment techs and designers.

- Candidates must have the ability to interpret designers- tech packs and the skill set and drive to ensure a commercial garment based on them is delivered on time. Experience of cost price negotiation is required along with the ability to make and drive solutions to problems and processes. Will be required to manage a small team so experience of managing assistants would be an advantage.

Job Profile :

- Has good knowledge of global fashion and trends and is constantly researching this as part of everyday life.

- Travels to source new vendors, mills and factories to ensure vendor base is constantly evolving to company standards. Builds relationships with key strategic vendors.

- Develops exclusive product with the company UK design team to ensure company is recognised and desired Brand in the Indian market

- Works with Designers and Licensees to deliver high profile International and Indian Designer Collaborations each season.

- Ensures fit and quality of company branded product adheres to company / international standards

- Works closely with garment techs to develop company blocks and fits

- Sources and secures appropriate fashion fabrics relevant to the designer tech packs and global trend direction.

- Negotiates prices and margins with vendors

- Works with Planner to build ranges, trade and drive weekly sales

- Helps to interpret trade reports and to predict future sales and trends

- Manages repeats and cancellations

- Manages the order raising process and ensures all buying documents are maintained

- Ensures the products are delivered on time according to the critical path

- Reacts to any changes in customer demand and in season and celebrity trends

- Interprets feedback from customers and is aware of customer returns for quality and fit.

- Builds relationships within the warehouse, studio, creative and marketing teams

- Works with the shoot team on styling and their understanding of key company trends.

- Acquires press samples from the vendors in order to facilitate marketing and promotions

- Regularly audits the available product to ensure it is both well-represented and accurately described on-site

- Manages the Assistant Buyer.
