Buyer - Kidswear(External Brands)


About client: Its a leading Retail Brand.

Role: Assistant Buyer

Location: Bangalore

Work from office :Yes

Drive sales and service the demand optimally in the relevant category for the concept by ensuring the availability of the right product mix (private label and brand) at the right store

Summary of Role Responsibilities:

- Understand and share the available market opportunity for new and existing categories, markets and brands

- Understand the trends prevailing in the international market and provide inputs for customizing the same to suit the needs of the domestic market.

- Drive the sales, margin and inventory for the concept.

- Initiate buying as per OTB and ensure timely delivery and availability of right stocks at the store

- Interact with the brand partners/vendors at regular intervals to meet the product availability norms and build relationships

- Address and resolve operational issues within the defined timelines

- Understand and share the customer needs and feedback

- Manage and guide the team to deliver on the job (for people managers only)

KRA:

Product Strategy and Planning

- Understand the trends prevailing in the international market and provide inputs for customizing the same to suit the needs of the domestic market

- Understand and share the available market opportunity for new and existing categories, markets and brands

- Initiate buying as per OTB

Applicable only or Private Label

- Support in deriving right pricing strategy through market study

- Be able to forecast future product / category trends

- Ensure the range presentation is submitted to the concerned stakeholders at defined intervals Applicable only for Footwear and accessories

- Provide inputs to the VM team in creating the planogram to display the appropriate trends and themes

- Work with the marketing team in collaboration with the Buying Lead to highlight key trends and backup the trends with the visuals

- Share vendor wise feedback and analysis (margins and budgets) to planning and finance team, for them to take required actions


Product Performance and Profitability:

- Drive the sales, margin and inventory for the concept

- Manage timely delivery and availability of right stocks at the store

- Ensure stocks are maintained as per display capacity and base stock norms

- Review and ensure the availability of the active assortment of brands as per defined norms (only for brands)

- Monitor the ageing of stock with reference to the total stock available as per defined norms

- Track sales performance of brands/private label and take required actions

- Perform gap analysis post launch for new products and new brands and take required actions

- Analyze product feedback and implement required actions to address the feedback

- Be aware of the profitable and non-profitable brands/private label and implement required actions

- Track competition with respect to business performance, promotions and productivity and share the same
