Business Process & Application Manager - Africa (Ghana OR Uganda)


The Business Process & Applications Manager will look at and review the actual processes within a business and then make or suggest a more efficient model and work flow process. Team members work with stakeholders from all business units, functions and third parties as necessary to define and document business processes and software requirements for technology and non-technology initiatives.

This position will coordinates & interfaces between the African businesses and Regional / Global IT. Lead & coordinate projects supporting Company & it's Joint Venture business.

Continuously look for improvements on the current process on SAP as well as other applications and develop new functionalities based on the requirements given by the business and help / drive the implementation of changes and projects.

Responsibilities Include:

Business Processes:

- Analyze, design and improve business processes via stakeholder interviews to understand and document the current (as-is) work process in process flows and standard operating procedures

- Define problem statement or opportunity for improvement of new projects and / or system changes. Identify and validate the key business requirements.

- Propose solutions, enhancements and improvements to business processes

- Compare as-is to to-be process and determine necessary changes to arrive at the improve state.

- Design and / or participate in change management activities to achieve the desired to-be state

- Identify best practices within the organization, coordinate appropriate documentation and roll out / modification of best practices to other entities.

- Identify internal control weaknesses, review internal and external audit reports for areas of weakness and develop process, policies and systems to overcome the weaknesses.

- Continuously seek to challenge, improve and optimize existing and new processes and procedures.

- Transfer own knowledge using formal and informal means

- Collect and monitor performance of business processes to analysis areas for improvement.

- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of processes to help ensure value is delivered.

SAP Processes:

- SAP 1st Level User Support - Analyze user initiated SAP Change Requests to identify the problem or system enhancement. Evaluate need and alternatives and recommend to IT for implementation. (refer details below)

- SAP Implementation - (refer details below)

- Challenge the business on nice-to-haves to understand key benefits and the reasons for the must-haves

Team Management:

- This position will have a team of 3 subordinates to manage who may be spread over various locations.

- Need to motivate the team and manage remotely to ensure they complete work on a timely basis and in accordance with quality requirements.

Essential Requirements:

- This position must be able to manage multiple priorities that often has deadlines imposed.

- This position must be able to work with cross functional teams with time zone challenges.

- This position will be required to travel 25 to 30% of the time.

Education:

- A university degree in finance or equivalent

Skills & Experience:

- Minimum 8-10 years of working experience

- Superior Knowledge of SAP in a manufacturing environment.

- Participated in systems implementation and training of users for a number of projects

- Strong analytical and conceptual skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication & coordination skills

- The ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers and subject matter experts

- Good problem solving and communication skills essential

- Good time management and organizational skills

- Has a good understanding and appreciation of systems

- Able to understand business problems and work with IT to develop solutions for the business

- Analyze process flows and promoting and ability to recommend process improvement for better efficiency and effectiveness.

- Ability to use VISIO

- Ability to facilitate process mapping and solutioning workshops.
