Essential Function

In this role you will work with Product/Engineering/Business leadership and other cross-functional teams to define enterprise level strategies and technical direction.Define the system, technical, and application architectures for development of the company’s BI CoE competency group. Ensures appropriate technical standards and procedures are defined. This position is actively involved throughout the entire solution life cycle.

Works Closely with - Scrum Team Members; Scrum Masters; Product Owners; Production Services; Operations; Product Management; PMO, Enterprise Architecture, Hosting Services, Release Management

External Relationships Limited relationships with vendors

Key Accountabilities

- Provide architectural vision to appropriately align our BI CoE to strategic business needs and goals.

- Maintains an ongoing partnership with the business to apply in-depth knowledge of the business operations, strategies, priorities and information requirements to establish the technical direction and an enterprise view.

- Defines solution level strategies and technical direction.

- Defines the system, technical, and application architectures.

- Ensures appropriate technical standards and procedures are defined.

- Ensures best practices are adhered to in the adoption of new technologies.

- Researches, evaluates and selects from existing and emerging technologies the options best fitting business and solution strategic needs.

- Ensures the delivery process and technology strategies are coherent and optimized.

- Manages multi-project management accountabilities in developing and architecting solutions in a collaborative environment.

- Oversees the design and delivery of proofs-of-concept for new or improved enterprise-wide technologies that are used within BI CoE.

- Architects solutions across multiple hardware/software computing environments and system components.

- Plans and implements process re-engineering or process improvement.

- Development and maintenance of our BI CoE Product roadmap and collaborating with product management in the production of the roadmap.

- Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies including Release Planning, Backlog Grooming, and Solution Review.

- Mentor and provide technical guidance for other engineers as appropriate.

- Maintain a positive, results orientated work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, communicating to the team in an open, balanced and objective manner.

- Relational database technologies experience.

- Analyze specifications , develop and test reports utilizing WEBFOCUS Developer Studio and Oracle DB

- Analyze dashboard , report and graphing / visualization requirements . Develop , test , document and train others on reports developed using Information Builders , WEBFOCUS Designer Studio.

- Set up and manage users , roles , and groups within WEBFOCUS. Provide guidance and training on user authentication & authorization.

- Perform WEBFOCUS system administration including performance measurement tools and training.

- Actively contribute in a cross – talented team comprised of analysts and architects to create and drive forward business intelligence reporting solutions for the company.

- Communicate with business owners , business analysts , team leads for scope ,requirements and project deliverables.

- Ability to work in deadline driven environment

- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build cross-functional relationships characterized by teamwork and a desire to meet customer’s needs.

- Computer architecture – Data mining and analysis; Data warehousing and storage; Databases and grids; Developer tools; Enterprise applications; Application integration.

Education

- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience is required.

Minimum Work Experience

- 10+ years of development experience with 3 - 5 years of application architecture involving application development and maintenance of Information Builders WEBFOCUS product.

- Working knowledge of Oracle DB , IBI WEBFOCUS and developer Studio.

- Successful and demonstrated experience in delivering commercial products to customers.

- Senior level knowledge of programming, application maintenance, and development of IBI WEBFOCUS.

- Strong background of providing written documentation of work products.

- Strong understanding of the clinical trials market and the role of technology to improve effectiveness and efficiency and thereby competitive advantage for technology providers.

- Experience at delivering multiple deployment models of software systems (on-premise, hosted, SAAS) would be advantageous.

- Experience with Six Sigma/LEAN is preferred.

- Experience in a 21 CFR Part 11 FDA regulated environment.
