Location: Remote (Traveling will be required)

About the role:

1. The client is a B2B product marketplace

2. They are launching a Logistics marketplace which will provide Logistics on Demand services to its clients in the marketplace

3. We need candidates who could head this Business Unit


The client is looking for an experienced and dedicated Business Unit head with strong strategic vision, business planning and execution capabilities to lead the Logistics Unit.. Logistics Unit is set to become a logistics marketplace connecting Emerging businesses (EB's) with a set of high quality 3rd Party Logistics Service Providers (LSP's) who will deliver on the promise of competitive pricing and service levels to all customers. The Unit will facilitate the same by building a quality platform with a simple intuitive interface that gives both LSP's and EB's real time visibility into their relevant supply chain

As the Unit head, you'll be leading a team from 3 divisions, P-B-D i.e. Product, Business and Delivery) and taking ownership of the logistics Unit. In this role, you'll be directly reporting to the company CEO

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. End-to-end ownership of the Unit

2. Ownership of Unit level P&L

3. Set long term vision, ambition and goal for the Unit and own the execution for the same

4. Lead, coach and work closely with a team of PBD (Product, Business and Delivery) leads for the Unit

5. Develop new products / capabilities for the BU backed by a thorough understanding of market needs and consumer insights

6. Ensure product market fit by understanding the TAM, TG persona, customer pain points and motivations to buy

7. Ensure appropriate channel preparedness to go-to-market

8. Define product capabilities to fit market needs and channel characteristics

9. Design appropriate hooks in the products to ensure lead conversion and long-term stickiness and embed value realization triggers

10. Develop business strategies for both buyer and seller onboarding and execute the same with the central business function

11. Determine strategy and framework to evaluate and identify quality LSP's to onboard on platform.

12. Determine governance and mechanism to ensure high quality experience for customers while incentivizing LSP's for the same

13. Develop, own and execute GTM plan for the Unit including - customer acquisition, sales roll out, marketing strategy, pricing & packaging etc

14. Define delivery approach and ensure it is built as part of the product design; Own and deliver product specific delivery functions within Unit

15. Design and deploy high quality frictionless logistics journey, with both EB and LSP fully integrated into the same with visibility at each stage

16. Design and drive automation for higher production adoption

17. Leverage the central business, engineering and delivery functions to execute the strategies

18. Build required partnerships and alliances

19. Develop strategic relationships with key internal stakeholders including CEO and functional leaders - CBO, CPO, CTO and CDO

Functional / Technical Skills

1. At least 10 years of experience of working in B2B marketplace business (preferably in logistics) in leading development, GTM, marketing, partnerships and roadmap and taking ownership of the P&L of multiple products

2. Proven ability to use customer-centric, data-driven insights to drive decisions that lead to superior products for customers

3. Proven ability to engage, energize, influence, and enable large, cross-functional teams.

4. Effective in a matrixed, distributed, and fast-moving environment

5. Excellent written and verbal communication and structured presentation skills

Experience Level

1. Bachelor's degree in business management, project management, product management or in a related field

2. Master's degree in business administration / MBA preferred

3. 10-15 years' experience in leading a marketplace business in an SME-focused or related industry

4. Experience in a prior logistics marketplace preferred
