Looking for an experienced Category Lead - for the home & fashion category who will completely own P&L, sales, business strategy, supplier acquisition and onboarding charters end-to-end for our SME customers. The Category Lead will get an opportunity to build the team of Sales & BD associates. Will be responsible for shaping the entire business strategy, planning and executing programs which make a significant impact on the future vision for the company and for the export industry. This position is based at Bangalore, with occasional travel as required. Roles & Responsibilities: - Business strategy & Industry thought leadership - Know the customer: Deeply understand customer behavior, develop new B2B SMB customer insights from Home & Fashion category - Own the business: Own the P&L, develop the business model, understand where opportunities are and create a viable business to service them Know the market: Stay on top of trends in an ever-changing cross-border B2B exports landscape and CBEC, short term and long term trends, find opportunities and prioritize based on size, internal capabilities, etc. Know the competition: Understand domestic as well as international players. Influence the leadership: Convert strategies into action by liaising with cross-functional leadership (Tech, Product, Marketing, Operations etc) and drive the changes required Have in-depth knowledge of competition, supply side, demand side and ability to influence the industry. Develop and implement industry best practices. Move the industry with you! Vendor Management - Develop deep and long standing relationship with the suppliers - to drive relationships from the strategic to the tactical - Own the terms of business with the suppliers - products, returns, ordering, etc. - Ensure high-share of mind from the suppliers. Build deep ties. - Make vendors partners in driving disruptive changes for the category - Work with teams to get the best possible selection & suppliers/manufacturers onboarded - Own cost improvement and overall portfolio management - Make company the "destination of choice" for business customers through the largest and the greatest assortment of products on offer from India Customer planning & acquisition - Build demand plans to generate qualified leads for the category and convert them into customers by managing the entire sales funnel. - Build & lead a team of sales associates to manage the entire sales process. - Build customer acquisition plan in association with the central marketing team and execute to acquire and build customer base for the business - Work with the central operations and customer service team to increase the customer satisfaction score targets. - Work with product team to build & optimize technology flows - Manage website promotions & merchandising for the business - make suppliers partners in customer communication - Experience: 5-9 years of experience in E-commerce/Retail/Exports Education: MBAs preferred but not mandatory, leadership skills and bias for action are mandatory
