Business Head - B2B Business Development - AgriTech Startup (8-14 yrs)

We are currently retained by a leading agri-tech player (well funded and established) to hire a Business Head-Agri Output for them.

Want to join an agri startup and help in working on essential supplies (the need of the hour today). If you are an agri professional who likes working closely with farmers and has deep understanding of agri commodity trading especially for cash crops and pulses in India, this role is for you. An MBA from Tier I institute with over 8 years of subsequent relevant experience in commodity trading is required.

The incumbent will have the prime responsibility of building a robust and scalable market linkage for various agricultural commodities. The person will also be responsible for team building, risk management, scaling up the agri output business & relationship management with institutional buyers.

This is a B2B Business development role primarily so please apply on if you fit the bill.

Desired Skills :

- Experience of working in Bihar, UP, Rajasthan around commodities like Maize, Wheat, Paddy, Pulses, Cotton will be an added advantage.

- Experience in agriculture and allied services sectors with a significant focus on dry commodity marketing and food processing with leading value chain organizations like trading houses, warehousing companies, FMCG players, etc.

- Proven experience of working on large volume of agricultural commodities in multiple regions.

- Proven experience of working with multilateral agencies and managing relationships.

- Demonstrated and proven experience with quantifiable results in the aforesaid areas, particularly in building marketing linkages and sustainable value addition opportunities for farmer collectives; and in executing similar interventions across agri commodities.

- Sound understanding and hands-on field experience in the complete lifecycle and value chains of agri commodities - particularly in grains and cash crops.

- To manage existing relationships with a range of institutional buyers and processors, along with an understanding of their businesses and requirements.

- Understanding of functioning of community institutions and farmer collectives, local aggregators and their strengths, weaknesses, requirements and so on.

- Good understanding of agri and digital technology, and emerging and innovative agri business models, including AgTechs and MSMEs, that are transforming agriculture and allied services.

The role can be based in Patna/Gurgaon or UP so please apply only if you are willing to travel extensively in this role.
