Business Finance Partner
Key Responsibilities:
Capital Planning & Strategy: 1. Develop and implement capital planning frameworks to support manufacturing operations, including investments in plants, machinery, and technology upgrades. Assess capital expenditure (CapEx) proposals, ensuring alignment with operational efficiency and long-term strategic goals.
2. Prioritize investments in equipment modernization, sustainability initiatives, and automation to drive competitive advantage.
3. Create and maintain long-term capital plans to optimize asset utilization and minimize operational disruptions.
Financial Analysis & Modeling for Manufacturing:
1. Build advanced financial models to evaluate the financial and operational impact of new production lines, factory expansions, or equipment purchases.
2. Perform cost-benefit analyses for CapEx projects, considering factors such as production capacity, downtime, energy efficiency, and return on investment (ROI).
3. Analyze key manufacturing financial metrics, including cost per unit, gross margin, overhead absorption, and working capital efficiency.
4. Conduct scenario planning to mitigate risks related to fluctuating raw material costs, energy prices, and market demand.
Funding & Resource Allocation: 1. Collaborate with operational teams to determine funding needs for maintenance CapEx versus growth CapEx projects.
2. Evaluate financing options for large-scale investments, including leasing versus buying decisions for machinery and equipment.
3. Ensure the efficient allocation of financial resources, balancing production goals with cash flow constraints.
Operational Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration: 1. Partner with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and assess financial impacts.
2. Work closely with engineering and R&D teams to budget for innovation projects, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
3. Coordinate with plant managers to monitor CapEx project progress and ensure timely completion within budget.'
Industry-Specific Insights & Risk Management:
1. Monitor and analyze external factors such as trade tariffs, commodity price fluctuations, and labor costs that impact manufacturing profitability.
2. Develop strategies to manage financial risks related to inventory management, supply chain disruptions, and production downtime.
3. Provide financial insights to support sustainability initiatives, including investments in renewable energy, waste reduction, and carbon neutrality.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting: 1. Establish and refine KPIs specific to manufacturing, such as production efficiency. Prepare and present financial reports, CapEx summaries, and investment analyses to senior leadership and the board.
2. Lead initiatives to improve the accuracy of financial projections for long-term manufacturing investments.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
Experience: 5+ years of financial management experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry with a focus on capital-intensive projects.
Certifications: CA, CFA, CPA, CMA, or similar credentials are a plus.
Technical Skills: Expertise in financial modeling, Tally, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and manufacturing-specific tools (e.g., MES, MRP systems) is a plus. Proficiency in analyzing manufacturing KPIs and cost structures.
Industry Knowledge : Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, production cycles, and operational challenges. Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, tax benefits for capital investments, and global trade policies.
