Business Analyst - Private Banking MIS

Business Title: Business Analyst

GENERAL SUMMARY

- Responsible for the preparation and analysis of assigned financial reports, statements, and marketing materials for a specific business unit/division on a timely and accurate basis. Development of new reports/reporting procedures and conducting analysis projects.

- A thorough knowledge of the business unit/product area(s) supported and strong quantitative and analytical skills are necessary. Specific responsibilities may vary and are dependent on role and business/product supported.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for the preparation and analysis of MIS financial reports for specific products and/or business units in Private Banking USA.

2. Maintenance and generation of weekly and monthly reports

3. Daily troubleshooting, rectifying issues/problems with the Data Warehouse and Security Master

4. Responsible for review/audit of internal systems, aim to be proactive in identifying which systems may be more efficient

5. Responsible for review of high-risk issues, determine resolution. Create, recommend and implement controls as necessary

6. Daily interface with senior management from, Pershing, PB, ECM on a variety of issues. Establish strong relationships with internal and external clients

7. Work with Human Resources (and occasionally Payroll) and PB Operations/Admin Management (Branch Managers, Operations Managers, Administrative and Compliance Managers) on various projects and open issues.

8. Interaction with Legal and Compliance regarding terminations, investigations, etc…

9. Special projects and responsibilities as assigned: Data migration project, report distribution development, report development, support Data Warehouse Architecture Strategy development.

10. Ownership of Security Master database

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree required; 5 or more years of securities industry business analysis experience. MBA or other advanced degree a plus.

BUSINESS COMPETENCIES

1. Knowledge of financial services industry

2. Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

3. Exceptional written, verbal communication and platform presentation skills

4. Advanced Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access skills

5. Some computer programming helpful, Query running, Manipulation of databases
