Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

- Must be a qualified accountant

- Proven ability to act as a bridge between the business and highly technical developers located in remote offices, translating business concepts into requirements that are implementable

- Expected to have 7+ years- experience of detailed requirements analysis in a commercial environment

- Expected to 5+ years- experiences as a domain expert in the following areas, preferably within a commodities trading environment:

- Accounting, regulatory reporting and financial reporting (must have)

- Invoicing & settlements (nice to have)

- Demonstrable ability to drive business process changes - challenging current business practices, working with key business process personnel

- Experience of a variety of software development methodologies (e.g. continuous integration, iterative development)

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong academic background - excellent degree from a top tier university is required in a subject that demonstrates the need for logical thinking, precise understanding and clear articulation

Key Responsibilities :

- Primary responsibility is the determination & clear articulation of business requirements for the trading area, with specific focus on the back office areas

- Stakeholder management to ensure the solution meets business requirements and there are no business surprises for go-live

- Close engagement with business process reengineering team, acting as the requirements authority (the source of truth) when clarification of the business process is required, and identifying process improvement opportunities to feed into the BPR team

- Close engagement with the functional architecture & business process reengineering teams to agree on a logical design of the solution, including screen design & usability to optimise business processes

- Quality assurance of any technical requirements produced by off-shore teams against business requirements produced through business engagements

- Key point of functional escalation for technical and QA teams during requirement development & testing

Key Relationships :

- Close relationships with business stakeholders and key users

- Robust collaborative relationship with architects, developers, project managers & other business analysts

- Testing and training groups

- Delivery focus

- Team worker, mentor ship of junior analysts

- Good communicator & engaging

- Ability to make decisions & thrive in a fast paced environment
