About the Job:

This role is a critical leadership position within our US Mortgage operations, focusing on the accurate and timely reporting and remittance of funds to investors. The Manager - Investor Accounting and Reporting will ensure compliance with agency guidelines, maintain strong investor relationships, and oversee daily GL accounting and treasury functions. This individual will be responsible for leading a team, driving process improvements, and ensuring the integrity of all financial reporting.

Job Description:

Summary/Objective:

The Investor Reporting Manager is responsible for the comprehensive oversight of investor reporting, remittance, and reconciliation processes related to US mortgage portfolios. This role ensures adherence to agency guidelines (FNMA/FHLMC), manages investor communication, and maintains robust internal controls. The manager will lead a team to achieve operational excellence and ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Essential Functions:

Agency Reporting and Compliance:

- Deep understanding and application of FNMA/FHLMC and other relevant agency guidelines for investor reporting.

- Preparation and submission of accurate and timely investor reports and remittances.

- Uploading reports to agency websites and ensuring successful transmission.

- Validation and comparison of Trial Balances, review and resolution of exceptions.

- Management of daily and aged edits, recasts, and repurchase loans.

- Preparation of Monthly MAS Statements.

- Download and reconciliation of bank reconciliation reports.

Reconciliation and Analysis:

- Analyze various reports to identify and resolve discrepancies and errors.

- Collaborate with internal departments to investigate and resolve data discrepancies.

- Review and ensure timely completion of TI (Taxes & Insurance) and PI (Principal & Interest) reconciliations.

- Daily reconciliation of corporate advances and escrow disbursements, including checks, voids, and ACH transactions.

- Daily GL reconciliation to insure all accounts balance.

Investor Relations and Communication:

- Maintain effective communication with investors through email and phone.

- Address investor inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

- Ensure investor billing is correct and paid in a timely manner.

Financial Operations and Control:

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Reg AB) and internal policies.

- Review and ensure timely completion of all General Ledger (GL) postings.

- Cleanup payment discrepancies within 30 days as per Reg AB.

- Oversee the processing of AP payments, credit card payments, employee reimbursements, and monthly expense reviews.

Treasury oversight.

- Team Leadership and Process Improvement:

- Lead and mentor a team of investor accounting professionals.

- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

- Establish and maintain strong internal controls.

- Monitor and enforce SLA's.

Technical Expertise:

- Strong understanding of US mortgage servicing and investor reporting requirements.

- Proficiency in agency guidelines (FNMA/FHLMC).

- Advanced knowledge of GL accounting and treasury functions.

- Strong understanding of Reg AB.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).

- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in US mortgage investor accounting and reporting.

- Proven experience in managing agency reporting (FNMA/FHLMC).

- Strong understanding of GL accounting and treasury functions.

- Experience leading and managing a team.

- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance.

- Experience with mortgage servicing platforms.
