Role purpose - 

As a member of the FSSC leadership team drive the efficient and effective performance of the team to deliver the best outcome for BT. Ensuring the function delivers against our transformation plans and provide support to the wider FSSC teams.

Lead on standardising processes and delivering a world-class service to our customers.

Be accountable for the delivery of the P2P processes against agree SLAs, working closely with procurement to ensure there is transparency on process accountability.

It is expected he / she will lead the way and be an exemplary role model for change across the FSSC and wider finance teams.

Held to account for:

Deliver all P2P processes against agreed SLAs, working closely with Procurement to ensure there is transparency on process accountability, taking full ownership of the process across all sites, not limited to the below:

- Vendor data management

- Accounts Payable

- Supplier DD / Watch

- Helpdesk

- Supplier reconciliations

- Employee payments

- Deliver improved effectiveness and efficiency of the team and deliver against transformation target

- Own the transformation journey for the P2P function, working closely with Group and CFU / CU Finance

- Deliver improved capability, performance, talent and leadership in the business area in line with business goals

- Work across organisational boundaries, forming matrix teams from our CoEs to deliver operational finance activities within the unit including; recruitment and development, performance management, employee relations, change management and resource planning

- Support senior leaders to role model great leadership across their teams and support the right engagement outcomes

Key accountabilities (5-7):

- People Strategy to underpin business unit ambitions: Design and develop a people plan to enhance the success of the business unit ensuring we appropriately balance effectiveness vs efficiency.

- Finance Strategy: Provides business insight to facilitate continuous improvement into the business unit. Brings best practice into BT and shares knowledge of progressive finance practices and key trends. Input into the service catalogue for FSSC.

- Organisational Development & Design: Works with Senior leaders to review the design and augment the business unit operating model so it aligns to the business unit needs and supports its strategic goals

- Culture, Values & Engagement: Works with senior leaders to co-create engagement plans for the CFUs. Can articulate how outcomes and risks impact business goals and recommends solutions. Clearly understands the customer needs to execute a plan against.

- High performing Teams: Coaches and develops leaders at all levels, manages and mitigates people-related risks to ensure retention of key employees, developing leadership succession plans, managing capability and high performance and overall healthy churn.

- Future Skills and Location Strategy: Works with business unit on plans to have right skills in the right place, at the right time by developing a fully integrated Strategic and tactical workforce plan.

- FSSC Effectiveness: Brilliantly manages FSSC activities across the teams and locations to ensure we deliver against agreed SLAs with the CFUs. To lead the CFU discussion for anything related to FC including current, future and transitioning activities.

- Thinks and acts commercially: has strong business acumen and commercial awareness to assess commercial or financial risk, people implications and develops solutions to address.

- Data Analytics: uses strong analytical skills and intuition to analyse data and interpret business insights and trends. Uses data to support decision making and develops the best solutions.

- Excellent collaborator and influencer: has a track record to engage, inspire and influence people at senior levels.

- Accounting standards - strong technical knowledge and it's practical application. Ability to translate complicated standards into something the teams can use.

- P2P / SSC experience: can demonstrate experience of operating in a procure to payment / SSC environment.

- Flexibility with travel is required. Expected to travel 50% of the time.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

- Typically graduate level with Accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA) or relevant business/professional qualification.

Budget owned: - 7m - split across all FSSC sites

Revenue/ EBITDA (per annum): Directly none - Indirectly support for delivering group financials
