Regional Lead - Income Reconciliation


Purpose of job :

- The Regional lead will be responsible to lead the process and team of Income reconcilers for Income generating activities. A critical element of the Regional lead role will be to serve as a key contact between the Country and Shared Services team.

- The process of income reconciliation involves comparing the expected income with actual recorded income and explaining the variance between the two. The income is received through cash, debit or credit card, bank transfer payment for exams fees and non-exam stock or services.


- An effective process ensures the income records are accurately reflected in our books in line with the British Council's reconciliation policy.

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties : (including people management and finance) :

- Maintaining the key service level requirements & KPI targets between the SSC, respective Regions and Business (UK)

- Perform root cause analysis & submit RCA for the failures and ensuing implementation of the agreed solutions

- Prepare Month-end & other ad-hoc process reports (e.g. dashboard) as required by both SSC and business stakeholders and timely delivery of the same

- Highlight issues with Income recordings and postings proactively and recommend long term solutions for the same

- Support SR Manager in management of relationships with external partners and internal system support and in development of team

- To provide guidance to team in resolving process and performance issues

- Support transition team in implementation of Income Reconciliations Global transition for respective products

- Ensure SSC is able to meet agreed service levels and targets regularly and any anomaly either raised by RL or by the served region are resolved with required timeline

- Identify Process Improvement projects, present to internal/ external stakeholders and obtain approval. Initiating process improvements there by improving the overall efficiency.

- Ensure all process documents are up to date and updated as required by the process.

- Monitor Team performance on ongoing basis through regular reviews. Identify non performers & address developmental needs.

- Ensuring support and compliance in all audit, regulatory and reporting requirement.
