Role placement: This role is part of our Coding Education vertical

Journey so far :

Having started in July 2020, BrightChamps is one of the fastest growing EdTech companies, globally. Our strong PMF, coupled with our remarkable execution, have translated into fast growth. Our growth is also attributed to the academy, conducting more than 0.1 million classes every month and the customer revenue directly funnelling into our growth.

Funding : 63 Mn $

Our growth curve gained traction from global marquee investors, including GSV Ventures (USA), Premji Invest (India), Binny Bansal (Flipkart founder), BEENEXT (Singapore). Valued at half a billion, in little more than a year, we raised funding of 63 million USD from these Tier 1 investors.


2 years from commencement and we already have made 2 acquisitions. WOOHOO!

- Education10x, which was our first acquisition, has already scaled more than 10x, in just 6 months, with their expert delivery in courses on financial literacy.

- Schola, our second prized acquisition, is all set to create an impact across the SEA group.

We have plans to foray into other life skills, with more acquisitions underway, globally.

- Launch other verticals focussing on varied life skills, and scale them up through integration with our tech infrastructure

- Provide an indulgent and meaningful learning experience to kids, through gamified approach and massive distribution

- Build the best online global academy, ever known. We already have teachers from ~ 10 countries

- Acquire relevant companies in our space to turbo charge our growth aspirations

What is this role about?

The Head / Director of Academy - Coding Business Unit will lead a team of over 1000+ teachers and 50+ managers and leaders across multiple sub departments to deliver an exceptional learning experience to our young learners.

Key responsibilities include:

- Build and maintain a steady supply of expert coding teachers across the globe

- Ensure high demo completion and conversion rates by:

- Improving the demo experience with teachers and

- Working with the sales and marketing team to ensure 100% teacher availability during demo slots

- Improve the class attendance, course completion and course upgrade rates for paid customers

- Build a rigorous curriculum for learners across all ages, geographies, capabilities and interests

- Constantly train, reward, prune and refill the teacher pool to keep the quality of experience at par with our standards

- Conduct engagement programs timely to improve class attendance and achieve growth targets through referrals

- Run an efficient day to day functioning system for the Academy department to ensure no hiccups in executing classes and resolve all Teacher / Student concerns within time

- Own the P&L for the entire Academy Department with ownership of key metrics such as:

Accrued revenue, # classes completed, # students taught, Churn, Teacher acquisition cost, Teacher attrition, Teacher quality score

- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience of leading the supply and delivery function of a company and owning the complete P&L of a business unit.
