BCG's Knowledge Team (KT) is seeking a strong candidate with experience to fill a Knowledge Analyst position within the Strategy Practice Area (PA). The Professional will focus primarily on the Megatrends and Uncertainty topics. This professional will support the Strategy Practice Area through managing and processing research requests, assisting consultants with topic specific problems, and providing analysis to drive insight into specific client issues. He/she will work very closely with topic leaders and team members on Uncertainty and Megatrends related issues, and at times may need to provide broader support to the STPA.

The STPA Knowledge Analyst will interact with both local and international teams and use an extensive collection of internal and external information resources and tools/methodologies to gather, filter, analyze, synthesize, package and deliver information to case teams.

The ideal candidate should be able to work with a broad range of topics and datasets, including but not limited to data and requests related to demographic, economic, geographic, technological, energy, and societal shifts. This professional will participate in and manage STPA analysis projects under the guidance of senior STPA KT members, partners, consultants and topic experts. He/she will work with a broad range of experts both outside and inside BCG at all levels of the organization.

Provides support for our client work:

- Assists others in navigating the Knowledge network by connecting them with materials and people

- Executes and coordinates complex research and analysis requests across regions and STPA (incl. internal & external expert interviews), with a focus on Megatrends and Uncertainty

- Establishes credibility with case teams regarding STPA in general, and Megatrends and Uncertainty in particular; takes positions/draws conclusions on a range of external and internal issues; full case team integration can be possible

- Provides analytical services (e.g., trend analysis, macroeconomic analysis, scenario support, benchmarking, research and analysis on relevant industries or companies)

- Provides sophisticated synthesis and packaging of results (e.g., Excel data manipulation, client-ready PowerPoint slides)

- Supports BCG partners and principals on proposal, lead preparation and other marketing activities

- Assists consulting staff in selecting the right research approaches, tools and analyses; provides training and on going support in their use

- Conducts information research in professional information sources/databases not directly accessible to end user

Supports development of the STPA:

- Develops specialized topic knowledge, particularly in the area of Megatrends and Uncertainty (including feeding back of knowledge derived from case teams back to the PA, e.g. case debriefing, help with content of KM deck, info from interviews)

- Collaborates on STPA intellectual capital development, such as Tier 1s

- Supports content development around the topics for STPA meetings, KM site, publications and other uses

- Maintains proprietary STPA-specific tools

- Authors training materials in topic area

- Assists in the maintenance of the knowledge infrastructure related to Megatrends and Uncertainty topics; may also support knowledge infrastructure for other Strategy topics as needed

- Promotes innovation at BCG by recognizing new concepts and facilitating its institutionalization

- Supports the local office (e.g., provides training in STPA content and proprietary tools)

Desired skills:

- 2+ years of relevant work experience in a strategic/analytical role (e.g., business analyst, economist) or corporate strategy role (especially around Megatrends and/or Uncertainty)

- University degree with demonstrated high academic achievement

- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with all levels of seniority

- Demonstrated analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail

- Service-oriented and proactive

- Autonomous, tolerance to ambiguity, self-motivator

- Excellent written and oral English communication skills

- Experience and ability to work with and manipulate large datasets an asset

- Expert knowledge of Excel, Access, PowerPoint

- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple parallel tasks

- Occasional travel

- Able to work across broad range of topics both in Megatrends and Uncertainty

- Experience with Strategy related sources preferred
