Blue Dart - Assistant Manager - Planning & Engineering (2-5 yrs)

1. Purpose :

Work under the general guidance and supervision of Manager - P&E to perform tasks assigned to achieve functional objectives in a timely manner. Work as a part of cross functional teams as project team member to provide engineering related inputs.

2. Experience/skill requirements :

- Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain industry.

- Basic knowledge of process mapping, layout planning, time and motion study, industrial engineering.

- Ability to define productivity goals based on process studies and calculate resource requirements based on defined processes.

- Good working knowledge of basic MS-office tools (Excel, word, power point) and basic knowledge of AutoCAD.

- Basic knowledge of quality improvement methodologies like 7 QC tools, Kaizen, 5S, TQM is desirable.

- Analytical and quantitative thinking

- Self-motivated, willingness to learn, good oral and written communication skills.

- Ability to work as part of team

Training & Roll out :

1. Training of all new features being introduced for operations and rollout of the same

2. Handholding of operations for new features till stabilization

3. Rollout of all Initiatives for Continuous Improvement of Service Levels or Cost Savings

Operations support :

1. Resolving day to day Operation issues for ensuring service level adherence and improvements

2. Implementing Sorter Configuration changes based on network changes

3. Maintain Line Haul Connection Database

4. Ensure Operations Adherence to SOPs

5. 1st Level Escalation for P&E

Operations planning :

1. Planning Facility Layouts for improved efficiency of the facility

2. Planning routes for efficient utilization and improved service levels

3. Planning and improving Line haul network for both existing lanes as well as new lanes

4. Planning manpower for load variations on a regular basis

Continuous Improvement :

1. Lookout for improvement initiatives to improve service levels/ reduce costs/ reduce Line Haul TAT/ improve productivity

2. Implement improvement initiatives for improved operations efficiency

Analytics :

1. Analyze existing data for identifying potential improvement in existing processes

2. Conduct feasibility studies of potential new lines of business

3. Analyze data for surge situation handling and identify potential solutions for ensuring service level adherence during surge scenarios
