SUMMARY OF THE POSITION This person will lead and manage multiple operations of the tax practice area and to deliver quality tax services for Bira91.The individual will be responsible to prepare taxation reports to ensure that the company fully complies with all legislative requirements, including, paying the correct amount of corporate and withholding taxes, and claiming the correct amount of deductions, and ensuring that appropriate documentation has been prepared in order to minimize the risk. He will serve as business advisor to our internal &amp; external stakeholders aiming at maximizing engagement and achieving qualitative outcomes ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Taxation : - Overall responsibility of all indirect and direct taxes globally for Bira 91 - Responsible for all compliances and strategy formulation related to Excise, Customs duties and Service Tax, GST - Ensure compliance with local, regional and global customs and trade laws, regulations or agreements for India and international markets - Monitor annual tax computations and ensure that all applicable and due taxes are deposited with government within the required timeframe - Provide relevant advice and input concerning taxation matters to internal customers, leading to timely and efficient decision making and execution. - Handling international tax compliance and managing international compliance calendar (filling process) - Handling taxation audits and making suitable submissions for the same - To work and liaise with government tax authorities on issues concerning corporate and indirect tax to ensure the company's interest is well protected while fully compliant with local legislation - Ensure compliance related to all taxation related matters and embed long term sustainable processes in partnership with cross functions, ownership for indirect taxes process cycle - Overall responsibility for all audit related queries, government departments, statutory and internal auditors - To work and liaise with tax authorities on assessments and follow up of tax audits. Ensure that all issues are properly addressed and inform management about progress on a timely basis thus contributing to the favorable results of tax assessments/ audits Internal Controls and SOPs: - Full understanding of Compliance implications of role and ability to implement relevant processes, identify room for improvement in processes - Suggesting the Improvement in the Taxation and compliance process to drive the Business of Bira91 smoothly and in a well-regulated manner. - Articulate system issues clearly to ensure solutions can be identified and implemented - Ensure implementation and monitoring of SOPs for various business operations keeping in view the Internal Controls. - To comply with Delegation of Authority Guidelines (DAG) and all published company policies having financial/ commercial implications SKILL SET : Chartered Accountant with expertise in Direct and Indirect Tax
