As the Big Data Mentor, you will be responsible for working closely with the Technology team to configure and maintain the Big Data Lab environment.You will provide online learning assistance (via messenger and discussion boards) as students work through assignments on the Big Data Lab.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Setting up and managing the Big Data Lab online, working with external vendors and the technology team

- Sourcing, selecting and maintaining a variety of datasets for use in courses

- Co-designing technical content and problem sets, working closely with faculty

- Mentoring participants of the program (participants are working professionals with technical background) and guiding them through data analysis and programming assignments

- Guiding students on practical programming to support faculty's learning plan

- Collaborating with Program Managers to ensure a seamless experience and excellent learning outcomes

- Organizing and supporting technical challenges to enhance learning outcomes

- Staying informed on latest technology developments and plugged into the technology community to ensure that the tech stack is contemporary

Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science from premier engineering college

- Demonstrable experience of 1-3 years on a cloud environment using tools like Hadoop, Spark, Tableau, Python and R

- Academically inclined and interested in the learning process - teaching, training and assistance, problem solving etc.

- Fluent in at least one programming language and should have sparingly worked on others

- Should be comfortable switching between different computing environments

- Should be familiar with Big Data technologies

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Flexible for 6 days a week working structure
