Bhumi - Director - Ignite - Supplementary Education (6-10 yrs)

The Director (Ignite) will be responsible for ensuring holistic education for children in shelter homes and slum communities leading to sustainable livelihoods. The program Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibilities towards driving the vision and mission of the program.

Primary Responsibilities include:

- Build a strong culture of ownership towards impactful programme delivery among volunteers and employees

- Mentor and manage the team of coordinators who build efficiency and effectiveness of day-to-day operations and delivery of the programme

- Design and monitor the effectiveness of the projects, rigorously evaluate for improved effectiveness of the programme

- Build structures, systems to enable the programme to scale, achieve the vision of the programme in the best possible manner with a focus on continuous learning, improvement, and rapid growth.

- Lead, coach, groom employees and volunteer coordinators into a high-performance team

- Manage partnerships with NGOs, learning centres, funders, government & community

Preferred Education Qualification/Experience:

- Minimum five years of relevant work experience

- Any graduate; Having an MBA/relevant fellowship would be an advantage

- Teaching, Volunteer, leadership experience with Bhumi (preferred) or similar organisations will be helpful

- Excellent track record of effectively leading and regionally and/or nationally scaling a performance- and outcomes-based organization

- Hands-on experience in project management and data driven program evaluation

- Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget

- Experience / exposure to teaching, pedagogy, curriculum design and training including digital learning adoption would be desirable

- Prior experience in non-profit sector would be an advantage

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Ability to drive outcome-oriented plans through the team's collective effort

- Strong alignment to the values of the organisation

- Strong influencing skills, people engagement, networking and listening skills

- Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills

- Emotional maturity to empathize with the perspectives/needs of team members

- Strong IT skills and aptitude for adoption of digital technology

- Highly resourceful team-player, who is self-driven

- Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures

Other Information:

- Reporting to: Board of Directors

- Designation: Associate Director to Director based on the profile

- Scope: Full time

- Remuneration: negotiable based on candidate's profile

- Minimum commitment: Three years

- Expected Joining Date: Immediate
