JOB TITLE :

AVP- IT, Policy Servicing Applications

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB :

To plan, implement and manage the Policy Servicing Insurance applications (Policy servicing insurance applications for individual life, Workflow, COTS applications) IT support for Bharti AXA life so as to ensure smooth and cost effective running of day to day business

Ensures that the implemented systems are available for business users as per agreed SLA

KEY ACTIVITIES :

- Understands BAL business growth and customer servicing plans and formulates the enhancement required on related Front end p IT applications plan to meet with the business need for growth

- Automation of Policy Servicing Life cycle and processes

- Maintains an up-to-date awareness of new developments in information technology and systems as well as available procedures and applications to evaluate their effectiveness in solving business system problems, and recommends the replacement, upgrading or implementation as necessary.

Application release management, COTS Application release management, Implementation of Insurance products :

- Liaises with business users, conduct business requirement analysis, work with vendor, for optimal solution and estimates.

- Manage Insurance product launch from IT perspective

- Reviews budgets versus actual costs of all applications projects for effective control

Ensures timely and error free delivery of change requests from users as per scope

- Works closely with business users, business analysis team to define scope of project as well as delivery expectations

- Prepares design, manages development, testing and implementation of all applications projects

Responsible for attracting, retaining and growing a competent and professional solutions delivery team

- Ensures appropriate training and development interventions

- Conducts timely and transparent appraisals

- Conducts quarterly 1:1s with direct reports

- Actively manages vertical and horizontal career development of team

WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITHIN BUSINESS UNITS :

- Works closely with business analysis team to define business requirements

- Works closely with service delivery team for infrastructure requirements for all projects

- Works closely with vendors for facilitating local solutions procurement

- Works closely with IT vertical heads for interfacing requirements

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS :

- University degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

- A minimum of 12 years of IT solutions and support delivery experience with 5 years of managerial experience in IT application planning, implementation and support.

- Working understanding of Life insurance Policy processing processes and good understanding of the allied applications.

- Good Understanding of insurance operations and sales processes.

- Support experience of imaging, workflow solutions

- Ability to comprehend customers' technology needs.

- In-depth understanding of the linkage between information technology and business value. Ability to develop solid business cases for implementing business enablement projects.

- Good management, coaching and staff development skills.

- Creative and analytical ability in problem resolution and troubleshooting.

- Excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skill.
