Bharti Airtel - Senior Manager - Contracts & Litigation - LLB/CS

Job Purpose :

The Telecom and DTH are highly regulated, complex & dynamic industries, involving multiple stakeholder with conflicting interests. There are large numbers of pending and new disputes with the government, regulators, competition, Public Interest Litigants, etc pending before Supreme Court, TDSAT, various High Courts and other forums.

- Moreover, large number of complex, critical and high value contracts are negotiated and managed by this vertical for which a knowledgeable and efficient team is required to ensure that future business & organisational interests are protected in this highly uncertain and competitive Regulatory environment.

- Hence the position needs to be filled up with a suitable candidate on priority

Principle Account abilities :

- Sound understanding of Regulations, Government Policies and its relevance to business with a Legal perspective.

- Ability to proactively assess and advice internal stakeholders on the implications of various Regulatory policies upon business to further organisation interest and mitigate risks.

- Follow up, track and build strategy on existing and new Regulatory Litigations pending before various Forums like SC,TDSAT, High Courts, Commissions, Tribunals, etc. Tracking of litigations through the Litigation Management System.

- Co-ordination with internal stakeholders and functions for relevant information, data & support for building strategy in new and pending matters to achieve business continuity and objectives.

- Experience in Contract Management and ability to negotiate with external stakeholders.

- To partner with business/internal stakeholder within the organisation in connection with pending & new litigations for data, information, etc

- To provide support on all Legal & Compliance Issues to the DTH Business, VAS and Brand Team.

- Coordination for drafting and management of DTH, & Brand Contracts.

- To standardize the documents to the extent possible and necessary.

- To seamlessly integrate the commercial, technical and taxation wisdom in the contract and play a role, which ensures coordination of the efforts and expertise of all the departments

- To keep track of the Regulatory environment and changes therein.

- To keep track of regulatory policies and legislation's and its effect on pending litigation's.

Major Challenges :

- Interfacing with multiple departments on cross-functional issues - Maintaining mutually beneficial and rewarding work relationships with all.

- Managing the briefing counsels for new and pending litigation's. - managing to get support from Counsel's at crucial times to protect organisational interest.

- Re-prioritizing work in view of changing demands and legal and regulatory dynamics - Keeping abreast of all legal and regulatory developments to spot changes in organizational priorities

Education Qualifications : CS, LL.B

- Knowledge and understanding of Corporate Laws.

- Knowledge of Civil & Criminal Laws

- Knowledge of Regulations.

- Knowledge and ability to negotiate and draft complex agreements.

- Good Communication Skill

- Strong Analytical skills

- Knowledge of MS Office & excel
