About Business HR and Overall Purpose of the role - 

- Human Resources (HR) business partners are enablers for Barclays in all areas related to people.

- We're an active contributor in supporting the business to achieve its objectives by developing effective HR people initiatives. This includes developing people, structuring teams in the right way and implementing change throughout the bank.

- We provide colleagues with the skills to be successful as the business changes and moves forward.

- We focus on strategic issues that will contribute to Barclays- growth and keep us ahead of the competition.

Main Duties and Responsibilities-
 
Strategy : 

- Develop and own the people strategy for the relevant business unit.

- Ensure the strategy and initiatives are aligned to RBB global and BSS HR practices, strategy and standards

- Monitor and drive HR plans to achieve successful completion on time, budget and quality

- Support and manage all risk elements of the business including but not limited to revenue & cost, attrition, customer experience and brand reputation

- Develop long term HR goals within own business area to align with the organization's vision. Create plans which involve capitalizing on current opportunities and future emerging trends.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership

Leadership : 

- Provide leadership to the managers and management oversight for issue resolution

- Provides leadership to HRBP teams and related functions. Responsible for managing a process with total team strength of circa 1200 colleagues.

Create an environment that encourages staff retention; high levels of staff engagement and ensures employee satisfaction shows a year on year improvement

- Embed a culture of regular reviews and performance management for HRBP team

- Contribute in promoting BSS as employer of first choice

- Serve as single point of HR senior management contact to the BSS Executive and Onshore stakeholders for the processes undertaken

- Set and communicate common business goals and objectives for HRBP team and assist Business's in setting goals including business goals

- Provide a single point of HR management for business change in the unit

- Face off with senior business (B6/B7 and SX) level stakeholders

- Actively support Succession planning and Talent Management initiatives and investing in manager development activities - Build a strong leadership pipeline

- Develop and Manage HRBP team by ensuring adequate developmental plans and trainings

Relationship Management : 

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders within BSS and senior executives and leaders in the customer businesses served

- Proactively engage/agree plans and outputs with leadership in the customer sending business units related to HR

- Work with functional owners to ensure cohesion between individual department goals

- Oversee and manage senior stakeholder visits for the Business Unit related to HR

Decision-making and Problem Solving

Analysis : 

- Talent retention analytics

- Manpower cost/ budget related insights using data analytics.

- Compensation decisions

- Talent Capability matrix modeling and engage in meaningful discussions towards decision making.

Innovation : 

- People capability build / Talent development/ talent mobility/ talent retention modeling

- Drive project transform initiatives for HR aimed at innovative solutions and technologies

- Conceptualize and build people strategy for the function across India on - talent- capability

- Build and lead innovative people practices aimed at improved people engagement- EOS and talent development

- Drive Innovation in HR solutions for business situations/challenges

Risk and Control Objective : 

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Communications :

The role plays an important role in setting expectations, understanding functional strategy, developing colleague strategy with business and negotiating HR deliverables to support the functional strategy.

- Ensure that the HR operational service is delivered successfully to the business.

- Socializing and communication to Senior leaders across the BU in India and global finance and HR organization

- Communicate and manage the bi-annual performance review processes

- Communicate- Manage and lead the annual compensation process

- Be a brand of HR to the external markets in terms of talent attraction and branding at key functional networking forums.

Presentation skills : 

- Work in partnership with senior business leaders, contributing to the development of the business agenda and delivering the associated people plan.

- Structural and cultural organization change and its impact on people- presentation and negotiation

- Develop Resourcing strategy for the function in partnership with the business keeping in mind market movements/intelligence

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

HR work experience in one or more HR areas is desirable.
