Job Title: VP - Equities

Overall purpose of role

- Own and be the accountable executive for the Equities and Prime middle office processes.

- Be responsible and accountable for business delivery as per the standards agreed with the business.

- Strong process and product knowledge to manage business delivery and control environment

- Ensure the right people are hired in the team for business delivery.

- Manage key performance and risk indicators and establish a governance model.

- Ensure relevant cross-training and knowledge sharing to build in-depth knowledge across the functions

- Collaborate efficiently with wider teams to achieve organizational objectives.

- Build and manage stakeholder relationships with business.

- Perform appraisals for colleagues, providing guidance and career support

Key Accountabilities

- The candidate is required to provide expert supervision with ownership and accountability.

- The candidate is required to have an excellent understanding of the Cash Equities, Equity Derivatives and Synthetics from a regional perspective and realize how issues and change impact the global framework.

- The role will also require regular close contact with various Operations teams, business managers, Front office, as well as our client base.

- The candidate will be required to provide supervision to processes across time zones.

- The role will require an individual who can cope with the demanding environment of an investment bank, moving between different areas of the trade flow, while providing solutions and assistance across the teams.

- The role is suitable for candidates with excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to set out and explain complex issues and problems, while using their experience and knowledge to influence key stakeholders.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership

- Thorough and demonstrable knowledge of the Equities products

- Ability to identify manual processes and perform/lead process excellence to improve process efficiency.

- An organized individual with strong time management, prioritizing tasks and able to meet deadlines with all stakeholders and external clients.

- Ability to coordinate and influence with all internal groups to action items of interest where there is a negative impact on the trade flow

- Mature in thought as well as in communications, comfortable with any situation within the equities world

Person Specification

- Degree level or appropriate industry qualifications with significant and relevant experience within a similar/comparable banking environment

- People management expertise.

- Thorough knowledge of markets/exchanges, reconciliations, product nuances of equities products

- Subject Matter Expert of the front to back process in an environment of investment banking

- Proven ability to build, maintain and enhance relationships sat all levels including interacting effectively, leading the discussions where appropriate with other key areas within the bank e.g. IT, MO, FO, Ops Control.

- Ability to influence others for providing the support and work under pressure independently, knowing when to delegate

- Detailed and meticulous, high level of accuracy with low tolerance for error

- Shares informed decisions to all areas of the investment bank, without fear of conflict
