Overall Job Purpose :

- The Agency Derivative Services (ADS) team provides Futures & OTC Client Clearing services in response to market and regulatory reform (Dodd-Frank in the US and EMIR in Europe). This regulation aims to reduce systemic risks within Futures & OTC Derivative trading. Product coverage is expanding rapidly and currently includes Futures, ETD as well as OTC products such as Interest Rates, Credit and Foreign Exchange.

- Barclays are at the forefront of a groundbreaking new initiative building Industry Utilities which create efficiency and standardisation across banking Operations. ADS have recently signed a contract with a leading brand name in Finance Technology, working with them in partnership to set up the first OTC and Futures Clearing Operations Utility.

- The Operations management team require indivduals who can specifically manage these 3rd party vendor relationships. They will act as the main point of contact for partner issues, service level tracking, performance analytics, growing the relationship, other commercial opportunities and cost effectiveness

Functional Responsibilities -

- Lead the business to business relationship between Barclays and the Utility provider

- Regular structured review meetings with Utility

- Provide direction on strategy/new initiatives which will impact the Utility, ensure the Utility are able to support. Escalate concerns back to the relevant internal stakeholders

- Create and facilitate a partnership betwen Utility and key Barclays stakeholders this includes Ops global leads, Front Office and PST senior management

- Work closely with the Supply Management team to ensure that the ADS Ops Utility relationship is managed and understood as part of the broader relationship that Utility provider has with other departments/functions across Barclays (e.g Barclays Technology)

- Responsible for creating, managing and evolving the Utility governance model in line with PTS strategic TOM

- Work closely with Barclays RCO to ensure that Utility are adhering to Barclays policy

Key Accountabilities & approximate time split (%) :

- Work with ADS and PST senior management to ensure that the ADS TOM is strategically aligned to the wider PST TOM with specific reference to implementation of existing and new Utility relationships

- Responsible for the design and delivery of ADS Utilization Strategy, work closely with business partners to ensure it aligns to:

- Specific ADS strategic business objectives

- Commercial opportunities to grow or build the ADS franchise

- Change the bank and transform initiatives

- Regulatory drivers

- Establish and maintain credible relationships with Utility management team and internal stakeholders based on a track record of delivering quality out-put. Ensure and external senior business stakeholders recognise this individual as the go-to person in Region for intenal on any issues or queries

- Facilitiate and Chair ADS business reviews with Utility teams to review SLAs and performance, design and sponsor resolution plans where necessary

- Build strong relationships with the Utility senior management team to facilitate high-level discussions addressing any performance concerns, identify the right style of communication and/or forum to facilitate the most efficient method of controlled, successful resolution planning

- Partner with the Barclays Supply Management team. Give them sufficient insight into the Operations function to build and evolve the broader vendor management relationship

- Attend Supply Management monthly and quarterly business review. Represent Operations. Raise issues and assist with partner with them to ensure the successful implementation of resolution plans

- Analyse key metrics, raise service level concerns to Utilty management. Escalate internally to the Barclays Supply Management team and PST senior management

- Negociate service credits articulate the business case sighting the evidence within KPI or KRI data and metrics

- Facilitate and Track revisions to SLAs, Standard Operating Procecedures (SOPs) or internal policy are required this candidate should lead these meetings, act as sponsor for any changes and provided retained - sign off- on any revisions

- Support junior management to build their relationships with the Utility provide support and coaching around managing conflict and constructive, formal, performance management

- Build and maintain relationship with counterparts across the Industry. Use networks and own expert knowledge of Industry developments to design future strategic initiatives. Communicate these suggestions effectively and work with Stakeholders to prioritise then against other workstreams

Person Specification :

- Professional experience, the right candidate will demonstrate the ability to work and influence at senior management level and ideally have experience of establishing and managing a relationship management governance framework

- Excellent Industry knowledge, the right candidate will utilise industry experience and networks to set strategic agenda planning

- Previous experience in a comparable role at a similar top tier Investment bank

- Excellent understanding of banking operations having lead a line or change function. Ideally this would be direct experience of Futures and or OTC or a similar product line

- Work in a fast paced environment, delivery focussed and pragmatic

- Delivery focussed, the right candidate will attain set objectives using resources effectively and be responsible for the improvement of the infrastructure environment and the continuous development of long-term strategy effectively utilising open and clear communication channels.

- Strong commercial awareness, proven track record of working with business partners to develop ideas to grow the business

- Excellent relationship builder, the right candidate will use their strong relatiobshiops to shape a successful and dynamic partnership between retained and utlity management teams

- Logical thought process, ability to think laterally and provide creative solutions
