- Macro business is a significant part of Barclays global presence. Barclays has long been a recognised leader in rates and foreign exchange products, and we combine this strength with our focused commodities derivatives and local emerging markets businesses. Our teams, based in financial hubs across the globe, can assist clients with anticipating the impact of macro market moves and events on their portfolios. For example, the impact of central bank interest rate decisions on currency markets, or the relationship between the price of oil and the performance of emerging market currencies.

- Macro Controls & Governance team in Mumbai would provide support to Global Marco Business management team. The business management team is responsible for controlling various aspects of macro business like the revenues, risk weighted assets, headcount, ROE, etc. The team conducts various business review meetings with the respective sub-business heads to review their performance and provide strategic guidance. The team also is responsible for ensuring controls & governance are not only executed in line with firm's rules and regulation but there is evidence to show the same.

Overall purpose of role :

The candidate would be supporting the Global Macro Business Management team as part of Macro Controls & Governance team, Mumbai. Macro Controls & Governance team, Mumbai is responsible for producing Governance & Control Decks, Product Governance including suitability and benchmark, Operational risk events reporting, Regulatory Compliance Evidencing and related MI. The candidate would be conducting one or several of the above tasks.

The role requires basic understanding of Macro Business and financial markets (foreign exchange and interest rate derivative products in particular), good eye for detail and an ability to liaise with the Senior Business Managers, Trading desks and Technology teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all the assigned tasks.

Key Accountabilities and Skills required:

- Key specific accountabilities

- Support Product Governance including requirements arising from MIFID compliance

- Support Ensuring Risk and Control processes are robust - scopes of checks are valid, continuously improved, procedures are documents etc.

- Support Procedure Writing & Standards, Interpretations & Guidance

- Liaising with Product Business Managers and Compliance Team to ensure exceptions identified in control checks are escalated and remediated in due time

- Production of producing Governance & Control Decks including data collation

 Key Skills and Qualifications :

- Good understanding of Macro Business and financial markets

- Demonstrate knowledge of regulatory expertise - an in-depth understanding of the high-level regulatory framework and overall construct as well as detail of specific rules and regulations and how they apply to the business

- Ability to deliver / handle large reports accurately and in a timely manner without getting lost in the detail (continue to see the big picture to put the detail into perspective)

- Strong Microsoft Office skills (including writing high quality PowerPoint presentations; proficient with Excel and Word)

- Ability to prepare excellent documentation of processes handled

- Excellent communication skills (oral/written)

- Should take complete ownership of the assigned processes and perform them independently

- Aptitude for self learning - Should be able to demonstrate a self starting attitude

- Proactive in nature. Should be able to take decisions and support those.

- Flexible to work long hours when required

- The candidate would need to interact with business managers, trading desks and supporting infrastructure and control teams spread worldwide as Barclays Macro business encompasses all the regions globally.

- Decision making and problem solving

- The candidate will have to be proactive in identifying issues and getting them resolved by liaising with various stakeholders

- The candidate needs to work on several time sensitive activities and hence is required to be meticulous and efficient

- The candidate should have great eye for detail and should ensure that he/she meets the zero error tolerance requirement as most output forms a critical input for business decision making
