About Group HR :

The Group HR function collaborates with business leaders to deliver Human Resources (HR) solutions and services for business areas, functions, and regions. It also leads the design and deployment of the overall HR policy and governance framework for the whole organization.

About HR Transformation :

HR Transformation is leading the global change programme across Group HR, focusing on the four pillars of Process, Data, MI and Technology, through programme delivery, capability creation and operating model design.

Overall purpose of role :

A role working in the HR Transformation team focused on supporting the roll-out of Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence capability and tools across the whole of the Barclays Group HR functions.

Key Accountabilities :

- Supporting the delivery of externally accredited Lean, CI and OE Training to a wide range of colleagues up to Director level

- Coaching business colleagues and team leaders in the usage of lean tools and techniques

- Training new lean trainers across the organization and supporting their accreditation up to and including LCS 1C level

- Support the delivery of Lean projects, supporting the realization of significant strategic objectives

- Play a key role in the Process Transformation team, promoting CI thinking across the organization

- Support the development of world-class approaches, tools, and techniques that are subsequently disseminated as best practice across the broader organization

Stakeholder Management and Leadership :

- Support lean projects, with accountability for the delivery of key modules to the Lean Capability Leader

- Lead, coach and mentor Lean Analysts in the delivery of Lean tools and modules, ensuring a strong environment of personal development and quality project outcomes

- Build strong relationships and rapidly become seen as a trusted advisor from a Lean point of view for business stakeholders - including Colleagues, Team Leaders, and Managers

- Work closely with business managers to develop, shape and maintain the key elements that support and encourage lean sustainability

Decision-making and Problem Solving :

- Analysis of large quantities of complex and diverse business operational data, requiring the ability to make complex situations simple and facilitate clear, fact-based decisions

- Opportunity to work across a broad range of Barclays business units and functions - requiring the ability to create value-adding customisation of deployment and capability build strategies on a case by case basis - working in partnership with a Lean Capability Leader

- Support the creation and development of world-class innovative lean tools and materials that maximise the ability of self-consumption whilst ensuring as high a quality and consistency of deployment as possible

Risk and Control Objective [This section is mandatory for all role profiles and must not be deleted]

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Person Specification :

- Lean project delivery experience from scoping through to post-delivery sustainability support

- Lean Competency System 1C accreditation - required to complete successfully within 12 months of taking on this role

- Significant stakeholder experience and the ability to influence up to at least Manager (VP) level

- Strong understanding of the key drivers of creating a sustainable Lean culture

- Strong communication skills - written as well as verbal - including expertise in creating powerful visual displays

- Experience in leading and coaching relatively inexperienced lean analysts, identifying development areas and mentoring through to positive career development and supporting external accreditations

- Lean coaching experience - preferably in areas with little or no Lean experience or understanding

- Experience of supporting and developing continuous improvement approaches in business areas

- A good understanding of Operational Excellence practices and experience in guiding team leaders through the use of core tools such as standard work, capacity planning, skills management and team communications

- Background in delivering Lean training courses to business users

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications :

- Operational Excellence / Lean coach

- Lean OE / CI Trainer

- Adept in the use of Lean tools and techniques

- Excellent communication skills
