Overall purpose of role This role aligns specifically to the Remediation Analytics scope within Decision Analytics providing analytical support to commercial stakeholders for the end-to-end remediation of Retail Lending customer related incidents. The role will develop and leverage a strong understanding of BUK Retail Lending source systems to analyse complex data problems and develop methodologies that will remediate customers fairly and accurately where possible detriment has been identified. The role will also develop controls for proactive early identification of future incidents based on insights from the data analytics or knowledge of the source systems. Key Accountabilities Framework and Methodology (25%) - Implement data analytics capabilities that provide best in class insight into root cause of incidents - Maintain and develop tools to quantify risks to Retail Lending businesses and support audit requirements - Identify and Champion opportunities to improve data infrastructure and support improvements in controls and data sources Remediation Analysis (65%) - Support commercial business with analytical capability to investigate, size Incidents, provide analysis and insight to assist with recommending required actions for the remediation of incidents - Engage with source system subject matter experts to understand the detail of impacted processes and translate that understanding to a view of customer impact - Identify and utilise new data sources, where appropriate, and leverage data from multiple sources to build an accurate model of customer impact and a robust methodology to rectify impacted accounts - Check and challenge data sources and process to confirm no further issues exist and system and data processes are functioning correctly Technical Expert (10%) - Act as a data/technical expert for warehouses and tools used within the department, providing support to colleagues - Provide guidance to the rest of the team on all issues relating to data sources/uses - Through extensive knowledge of SAS and/or SQL in particular, provide guidance to other team members on all aspects of coding, including efficiency and effectiveness - Be a Subject Matter Expert and support colleagues in other appropriate teams by sharing knowledge & best practices in coding and data. Person Specification - Extensive analytic experience preferably within financial services products/segments, digital or Telco. Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications: - Experience in creating business models, both financial and consumer behavioral - Experience in using innovative customer analysis to identify commercial opportunities - Experience of programming in SQL, and in additional computer languages (e.g. SAS, R, Python) desirable. Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications: - Experience of statistical analysis techniques desirable - Practical experience of creating customer segmentation models, and running customer targeting - Practical knowledge of data warehouse and MI environments and practices
