What will you be doing?

- Overall accountability and end-to-end delivery management for a set of related initiatives and/or services as defined by our business and portfolio framework through initiation, requirement analysis, design, build, testing, implementation and closure

- Ensuring a consistent high standard of integrated change across the API Platform, through facilitating and driving a high level of delivery cadence across the team on a day to day basis, where appropriate running daily calls, planning workshops and triage investigations

- Lead a motivated, high performing team, working as one to achieve and often beat their plans and targets

- Accountable for and the working knowledge of: project delivery activities aligning to a business case and scope definition

- Accountable for management of: scope, schedule and cost constraints inherent within a retail banking change environment at the project level

- Accountable for project planning, including the progressive elaboration of scope into detailed work packages underpinning a critical path at the project level.

- Accountable for the creation, management, and execution of a risk management framework including risk trigger/identification, risk assessment, risk control and risk mitigation.

Team Management (70%)

- Provides inputs for scoping, planning of a release; responsible for providing effort estimates for one or more releases

- Coordinate the demands of a number of projects, to maintain a resource forecast that matches the aggregate demand profile.

- Manages project priority and highlights re-prioritisation requests to leadership to be able to manage component team resources effectively and in line with wider teams targets

- Acts as a single point of contact for one or more API Platforms component team

- Coordinate and supervise all activities related to one or more component teams of API platforms.

- Responsible for establishing Team-level practices and processes to optimize teams and individuals to deliver the best quality

- Work closely with the assigned lead engineer(s) to deliver technical strategies for the application components and ensure that change projects are designed and implemented using best practice

- Responsible for ensuring daily JIRA stories are updated with latest status and that component team members capture actual efforts across tasks

- Arrange daily stand-up meetings, facilitate meetings, schedule meetings, demo and decision-making processes in order to ensure quick inspection and proper use of adaptation process.

- Removes impediments to the teams progress to its commitments

- Ensure that all governance, risk policies, procedures and compliance policies are adhered to.

- Enacting change & continuous improvement to increase the productivity of the team and quality of deliverables

- Highlight risk and dependencies to delivery manager against plan

Delivery and Supplier Management (15%)

- Liaise with external product SME for requesting and chasing fixes and enhancement requests

- Manage all resources across component teams, optimising the use of other Barclays and any third party suppliers as required.

- Follow the appropriate resourcing model to help deliver on cost targets

- Ensure the effective development of robust, effective platform / application / product changes for all projects

- Manage aggregate change control and configuration management for any hardware / application / product releases. Recommend appropriate way forward to key stakeholders based on outcome of impact assessments.

Transition into Run / Production (10%)

- Collaborate with the application support / service teams to ensure smooth transition of hardware and applications into their BAU environments.

- Manage the successful delivery of hardware / application / product releases into the production environment.

- Ensure that all release-related service incidents are resolved during delivery and warranty periods.

- Team Leadership and Staff Development (5%)

- Contribute to operational objectives of wider team and take lead role in any organisational transformation initiatives.

- Lead evaluation and review of emerging delivery methods, tools and standards. Apply new ways of working as appropriate.

- Identify own development needs and proactively drive development of own capability, using all available means, to achieve world class standards.

What were looking for:

- Track record of delivering complex projects/programmes end-to-end across multiple component teams and with multiple business stakeholders on time, scope and budget

- Excellent understanding of project management disciplines, frameworks and techniques

- Highly structured and organised with experience of delivering the key artefacts of project governance including regular reporting, working groups etc

- Successful senior stakeholder and supplier management internal and external, and across different organisation units

- Ability to use general office software tools including spreadsheets, presentation tools, word processing and process flow mapping

Skills that will help you in the role:

- Excellent communication skills Desired Project Management professional accreditation from the Project Management Institute or equivalent

- Strong technical/infrastructure change background
