Position: Business Analyst Specialty Chemicals

Educational Qualification: Chemical Engineer/Graduate with chemistry background + MBA

Years of experience: 3-5 years from Market research coming from Chemical/specialty chemical indust

CTC range :8lpa – 11 lpa

Most Important:-

It can be specialty or bulk chemicals. As long as it is industry experience from the chemical industry

- Commercial expertise is important (licensing, marketing, sales, business development). Willing to back down on MBA if the candidates have proven commercial practical expertise

- High analytical skills very important

The roles and responsibilities includes:

- Estimates of market size and segments for a new product

- Identification of new customers

- Analysis of competitors / their account (where are they, where does growth come from, why they grow, etc.)

- Identification and assessment of potential partners / distributors

- Analysis of macro-economic drivers and impact on Sale

- Value chain analysis

- Secondary research, press searches

- Ability to handle projects with Medium & Low levels of complexities

- Medium (Fairly Complex Problem)

1. Fairly scoped, we often own project

2. Analytical complexity

3. May involve some stakeholder management

- An example: use of HMF in solvents – customers, partners

- Low (Fairly Simple Problem)

1. Scope is clear; typically we deliver input to a project

2. Analytical, but not complex – Excel output or simple/predefined slides

3. Typically only data gathering (limited stakeholder management)
