About Azvalor

Azvalor, a highly-reputed multi-billion-dollar hedge fund headquartered in Madrid, Spain, is looking to hire a full-time senior equity research analyst based out of its Madrid or London offices. Ideal candidate will be highly informed about global markets, be actively interested in identifying opportunities and have a passion for analyzing investments via rigorous value-based research and analysis.

The candidate should be either an IIM MBA or equivalent; or CPA or CFA; and should have spent at least 5 to 10 years in an equity research position or investment house. The caliber of the investment house is less important than the skills, investment passion, and judgment that the candidate demonstrates.

After the initial interview, shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by Fund Managers in Europe. Remuneration will be on par with comparable European pay scale, and candidates will have the option to work in either the firm's Madrid or London office.

What you will do:

The candidate will try to find attractive opportunities in the global equity space with a long-term investment horizon. We in Azvalor have a deep research process including:

- Analysis of company/sector history,

- Detailed review of sector/company accounting,

- Deep dive into the management/board members ethos/skills/incentive scheme

- Critical thinking about the future key variables of the business

- Variant perception vs market

The beauty of our firm is that we're truly long term thanks to a loyal investment base of more than 17K clients that have accompanied us for >15 yrs over which we posted a >15% CAGR compounding. We do not care about predicting the next 6 months or even the next calendar year. We rather prefer to focus on understanding business dynamics and invest with a >5yr investment horizon. That means the candidate will not be paid/incentivized on his picks- performance but rather on the sound judgment contribution to the team.

Educational Qualification:

MBA or CA, CFA / CPA preferred but not necessary. Candidates with a real passion for the probability of future events would qualify too.
