About Department :

Axis Banks (BIU) : This is a high profile team with a mandate to drive data based decisions within the bank. Reporting in to the Head Banking Operations and Transformation, this department works with all businesses of the bank including retail, small business and corporate to drive analytics. In terms of functions, the department has teams focused on all aspects of analytics for the bank including risk analytics, financial crime analytics, business and marketing analytics, building predictive scores, data engineering and business reporting

Key Responsibilities :

The candidate will be responsible for the following in his/her job role :

- Lead the analytics team for Cards/Lending

- Drive business insights based on data

- Create competitive advantage for business through the use of analytics

- Foster a culture of analytic decision making across the business

- Drive business value through more optimized data based decision making

- Create and maintain the foundational data infrastructure that is critical for the success of analytic work. This will involving working with other teams or external vendors to create datamarts, documented data processes, identifying data/ intelligence gaps and addressing them on an on-going basis

- Data driven decisions on resource allocation and deployment of the major sales and service teams of the bank; granular tracking of productivity metrics; creating scorecards to drive resource management decisions

- Ensuring that valuation framework (life time value) is created and is being used for all retail deposit products in key optimization decisions

- Actively involved in major decision making process with all key business heads

Qualifications : Degree (masters or above) in a quantitative subject such as Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Economics or Finance

1) 8+ years of relevant experience in the financial services domain and/ or analytics functions. Track record of increasing responsibility and success in leadership roles

2) Sharp analytical thinker. Well-versed in dealing with numbers and large quantities of data. Proven thought leader

3) Excellent communication skills. Delves in to a complex problem and solves it by using large amounts of data. But is able to simplify as appropriate to cut to the core issue and present findings

4) Great leadership skills. Very proactive. Interacts with other business leaders to both learn as well as influence. Partnership approach and collaborative attitude

5) Tremendous drive towards results. Ability to persist against obstacles and get things done

6) Displays great ownership of problems and results. Can do and positive attitude

7) Building the team; Orchestrate training agenda to ensure team stays at the cutting edge of analytics; Retain key talent
