The Finance Controller at Awfis will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This role requires a highly skilled finance professional with strong leadership abilities and a deep understanding of financial principles. The Finance Controller will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and support strategic decision-making by providing actionable financial insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and company policies.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic and achievable budgets.
- Prepare and present financial forecasts, including variance analysis and scenario planning.
- Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for cost control and resource allocation.
Financial Operations & Internal Controls:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Ensure the implementation and maintenance of strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage the company's cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
- Develop and implement cash flow forecasting models to support strategic planning.
- Optimize working capital by managing receivables, payables, and inventory levels.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and tax filings.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective risk management strategies.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Provide training and support to team members on financial processes, systems, and best practices.
- Promote collaboration and effective communication within the finance department and across the organization.
Strategic Financial Planning:
- Support the CFO in developing long-term financial strategies and business plans.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support growth initiatives, investments, and M&A activities.
- Conduct financial due diligence for potential acquisitions or partnerships.
