Division :

Risk Solutions has been created within the Services/Transformation to partner with the Risk Executive Committee in developing and delivering a comprehensive technology and operational strategy covering key risk areas such as Credit, Market, Enterprise and Operational Risk. It will collaborate closely with divisional CAOs, Technology Services, Data Services, Finance and Treasury in providing core capabilities supporting the management of risk and capital, meeting rapidly evolving regulatory demands, and improving customer experience.

- This position is for Retail Credit Risk.

Responsibilities of Retail Credit Risk :

- Advise the business on setting acceptable risk appetite

- Owns the Risk framework

- Develops tools and controls to manage risk

- Stress testing and scenario planning

- Monitor performance against risk appetite

- We're looking for someone who can establish and lead the SAS Centre of Excellence.

- The Centre of Excellence will have a specific focus of enabling the use of SAS tools within an organization to achieve business objectives.

It will act as a central point for :

- Developing and evolving the infrastructure.

- Promoting collaboration and best practices.

- Drive efficiency and optimization.

- Provide consultation to existing platforms.

- It will ultimately be a means to support strategy and operations through objective analysis. This organization, or team of experts, must have representation to include business knowledge and participation as well as analytical expertise.

The Responsibilities :

- Thought Leadership in setting up SAS Centre of Excellence for Risk Solutions - Retail Credit Risk

- SAS Solution Consulting and Advisory Role promoting effective use of SAS suite of tools within the organization

- Structure the data and processes to facilitate the application of analytics, to provide the appropriate level of governance and to enable closed-loop learning to allow for continuous improvement.

- Developing and promoting best practices to facilitate the identification of new requirements, the application of SAS suite of tools, and more importantly the interpretation and distribution of results.

- Manage and lead a team of SAS resources and oversee their contribution of different projects, programmes and applications within Risk Solutions.

- Leveraging available skills and resources to optimize their contribution to the high-priority projects and problems.

- Gradually changing the culture of the organization to always apply critical thinking and to demand the validation of business assumption and strategy. This includes fostering a learning culture- one that encourages experimentation and provides permission to fail.

- Continuously developing talent.

The Requirements :

Essential Experience : (Must have)

- Overall around 14+ years of industry experience including more than 6-8 years of relevant experience in having successfully implemented projects using the SAS suite of tools

- Architecture and Technology is Core Competency

- Experience in Technology Consulting, Architecture Assessment, Capacity Planning, System Architecture Design for High Availability and Load Balancing Configuration

- Large implementations on Grid, Cloud are a plus

- Leadership skills in growing a Niche/Talented & senior technical team and managing stakeholders within an organization

- Commercial application of data extraction and analysis experience via SAS and SQL

- SAS Data Integration Studio(DI Studio), SAS Management Console, Platform Process Manager, Teradata (or similar database technology)

- Analytical and inquiring mind-set, ability to develop a range of options and present these in an engaging and compelling way that encourages maximum participation.

- Ability to use a methodical approach with attention to detail ensuring that insightful solutions are driven out in a timely manner.

- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to priorities effectively for self and others during peak periods.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate numbers based output to stakeholders.

- Attention to detail and ability to spot trends/anomalies/errors in data sets and reports.

- Ability to manage workload in order to meet timescales.

Supplementary Experience : (Good to have) :m

- Prior experience in setting up a CoE (Centre of Excellence) for a large organization will be a big plus

- Candidate with a good understanding of Retail Bank operations, principally within the Credit Risk environment preferred, although not essential.

- Successful influencing skills, ability to present proposals to others and gain commitment and acceptance of new ideas.
