AVP/VP/CM - Financial Planning & Analysis - Insurance (8-17 yrs)

We are looking for VP /CM /AVP - FP&A for a leading Insurance company based at Gurgaon.

Client will be evaluating candidates who are currently working in Life/Health Insurance ONLY

Pls note this is not a Client facing role. This role is attached to the HQ.

Job Location : Corporate HQ, Gurgaon

Education : CA / MBA ( F) from BIG4 Background

CTC : Best in Industry

Department : Financial Planning & Analysis

Exp : 7+ yrs post qualification experience in finance function for MNC (preferably service industry)/ big four

Nature of the Role : Team Handling

Working Timings : 9 am onwards, 5 days working

Job Purpose

This is one of the critical role within Financial Planning and Analysis team, which plays a very important role in supporting the organization and the leader of the team in several activities as listed below.

Job description and key strategic elements of the role:

These are several strategic elements of this role as described below:

1. Contribute in 3 year strategic plan and 1 year operating plan process which includes

- Working with distribution in terms of sales, sales metrics, product mix etc

- Working on bottoms-up costs and align with organisational objectives

- Liaison with actuarial team to come-up with long term and short term cash flows

- Deployment of business plan once the plan gets approved

2. Contribute in monthly variance analysis of all planned parameters

3. Contribute in the growth agenda of the company which includes

- Being finance SPOC in all new sales initiatives and organic growth ventures of the company

- New distribution deal pricing

- Ring fence the existing distribution partners to longer periods

- Contribute in the inorganic growth agenda of the company

4. Periodic distribution incentive schemes and contests which include

- Critical evaluation of annual distribution incentive schemes and contests and facilitate approval

- Periodic evaluation of partner wise compensation

- Periodic evaluation of contests and sales employee incentives

5. Be an expert on the LI financials with the capability to connect all the dots in the business, possess strong actuarial knowledge so that sharp analytics could be enabled

6. Provide financial and analytical support to all levels of management across all functions through reporting and analysis of operating results and evaluate performance

Key Competencies / Skills Required

- Strong computer skills required, including Word and Excel

- Strong analytical skills

- Strong communication skills

- Deadline driven

- Detail oriented

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills


- Proficiency on working in MS - Office (High on Excel & Power Point)

- Good knowledge of Accounting practices and standards

- Communication Skills

- Proactive with ability to speedily understand business and its information needs

Measure of Success:

- Strong Insurance domain knowledge preferred and ability to connect between the work of Finance, distribution and actuarial functions

- Role involves dealing with stakeholders who are mostly functional heads. The success of this role is in being assertive to ensure that financial objectives of the company are met at the same time enabling business in their respective initiatives

- Quality of analytics, feedback from internal customers
